If you need to test a irrigation valve for functionality and do not have a valve tester, you can make one from three 9-volt batteries.
This will create a 27-volt valve activator that assembles quickly and is portable.
Steps in Creating a
Portable Valve Activator.
Take three 9-Volt Batteries
Connect in a series
Connnect one valve wire to the negative pole
Then connect the other wire to the positive pole to activate the valve
If the solenoid is functioning properly, you should hear a "click"
Note: Always use caution when using batteries. Be careful not to damage or short circuit the battery - They may leak or rupture.
