Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) Valves

Reduced pressure zone valve assemblies (RPZ Valves) are used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution.

Irrigation backflow devices are designed for installation on potable water lines to protect against both back siphonage and back pressure of contaminated water into the potable water supply. Backflow assemblies provide protection where a potential health hazard exists.

Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies

RPZ valve assemblies, sometimes also called reduced pressure principle assemblies, are the industry standard for any type of commercial property, including apartment buildings and condominiums, because they provide the highest level of protection against pollutants and toxins. Reduced pressure zone assemblies are the most expensive and complicated backflow valves to install; however, when installed correctly, these are the safest and most reliable backflow prevention available.

They are also usable for any type of plumbing or water system which requires a backflow preventer device, not just irrigation systems. Our selection of manufacturers includes Febco, Combraco, and Wilkins. Each RPZ works in the same way; however there is variation between manufacturers in size selection, price range, and product features and specs. We recently added a new line of Febco reduced pressure assemblies. These new reduced pressure zone assemblies come with union ball valves. This makes them a little more expensive than the original models, but highly worth it for easy installation and removal, as well as maximum freeze protection.
