Needed Some Modifications
Two hose bib drip connection kits were installed on two different house faucets 1 week ago and both are functioning well at this point.

There were two problems I had with the installation.

1. There was no washer included on the connection between the pressure regulator and the adapter connecting to it upstream. This caused it to leak profusely. Both kits were missing the washer. I added washers to both of them and that took care of the problem.

2.The other problem I ran into, was not a problem with the kit, but just something to be aware of, was that I was using .630 OD tubing to connect to the compression swivel. The compression swivel only supports .700 OD tubing, which resulting in a leak. SprinklerWarehouse does not carry a compression swivel for .630 OD tubing. I was able to get a proper sized compression swivel at Ace Hardware.

need for winter watering occasionally

For a couple of small garden its simpler to get the kit to hook up a drip system to a hose bib. I already have several simple battery powered timers from previous set ups so I chose this kit without a timer.

I need a simple kit to start an irrigation for my garden. It's a big garden, but this should be perfect for the setup

Used this kit several times before and putting it now into grandson's yard with under-the-grass drip. Easy and complete except for the timer valve and drip line.

does this unit attach to a 1/2 drip hose?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The top end of this bib kit attaches to a standars 3/4 inch outdoor spigot, like you would attach a garden hose to. The other end is a compression fitting that attaches to either 1/2 inch poly distribution tubing such as DIG 14-005 or 1/2 inch drip line like DIG A5-112.
I want to use 1/4 inch poly. Will it work or do I need to add/omit a piece?
A shopper on May 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The unit is set up to use 1/2" poly pipe. If you are going to use 1/4" tubing you will need to get an adapter which SW sells. If you are going to have more than a six or eight drippers or emitters running I strongly recommend using the 1/2" poly piping as a main line with 1/4" feeder lines going to the plants. The 1/4" tubing by itself will not supply enough water volume to properly supply all of the emitters. Hope this helps.
Looking to go from a faucet to a 1 inch mainline pipe then back to 1/2 inch pipe to run the emmitters....will this work?
Glen M on Apr 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This product has an "input" for hose thread and an "output" for 1/2 inch pipe so you will need some kind of adapters for 1 inch pipe somewhere.
I plan on watering 10 rows each 100' to 130' ft long. I'm running 3/4 PVC from well hydrant and stubing at each row with seperate spigot on each stub. My well PSI is aprox 55. My question is will this connection kit work at each row with multiple rows turned on at the same time?
A shopper on Jul 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: At 220 GPH, this kit should handle the flow, assuming you will use one per row. I wonder if your well can handle the flow, and if a 3/4" PVC is adequate. I just had a friend in the sprinkler business tell me I needed a 1-inch line just to water two 15 square foot sprinkler beds and 2 bird baths - pipe run of 250 feet.
I have heavy water does the filter help with that?
Jerry on May 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought one but I haven't hooked it up yet no idea
does this item restricts water flow? can this item be use for sprinkler systems?
Karlplug on Apr 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It does not restrict water flow but the flow is regulated by the pressure regulator that is a part of the kit. The only restriction is dependent upon how clean the filter screen is. If it is somewhat filled with debris, it will restrict flow to a certain extent . The more debris, the more restriction there is. It will work on a sprinkler system provided the output of the sprinkler heads does not exceed the design output of kit.
So what part would I need to make this work for 1/4 poly. Struggling to find. I assume I need to replace the current #5 with a piece to go from 3/4 pipe thread to barb?
A shopper on May 10, 2012
BEST ANSWER: That is correct - must use a 3/4" pipe to a 1/4" crown or barb male end. Part 5 is the part to replace.
