DIG ST100R Flat Drip Tape Flat Soaker Tape (12" Emitter Emitter Spacing) (.8 GPH) (100')

Drip Soaker Tape is a flat, thin-walled hose containing pre-spaced drip emitters, that expands when filled with water. The model ST100R for 100’ and ST500 for 500’ drip soaker tape have in-line drip emitters, welded into to the drip soaker tape every 12” during the extrusion process, allowing for complete saturation coverage along the line. Ideal for drip irrigation of vegetable gardens and row crops including tomatoes, strawberries, melons, peppers, eggplants and more, drip tape can be installed above or below ground or under mulch. The most efficient use of drip soaker tape is with low flow drip emitters, closely spaced to achieve the desired wetting pattern. Homeowners are successfully using a range of drip irrigation techniques including drip soaker tape systems to grow a variety of crops without the use of traditional sprinkler systems. The drip soaker tape requires special fittings, available in a number of configurations, for exclusive use with the drip soaker tape.

This tape doesn't fit well on ANY fitting and constantly blows off the connectors. Stuck with 1000' of the stuff.

Good choice for "Urban Farmers"
I've used DIG ST flat drip tape for several years with excellent success here in Florida. I'm pretty much a weekend Gardener lacking time for such activity during the week. I originally selected the DIG ST drip tape because I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on an activity I do for "mental health." Also, the built-in emitters, avoids the hassle of buying/maintaining the individual emitters in "professional" drip lines. I use it in a 4'x60' above ground garden along my back fence. A single strip with a 10psi pressure regulator on a garden hose was all I needed. The DIG ST drip tape has exceeded my expectations. My original installation has run for three years without serious problems. I use it almost continuously during the dry season. I've had to repair it once (a bird packed a hole looking for a drink). An inexpensive 1/2" hose repair barb from a local hardware store did the job. I have since contributed some DIG ST material to a community garden at a local park. It is working well for that garden too.

Six 100 foot flat drip hose connected to 1/2 poly manifold watering six vegetable garden rows off of 3/4 garden hose timer. Need to add one more 100 foot flat drip hose to lower manifold pressure.
Great product, hopefully sun resistance is good enough for several years of service.

Is this 1/4" dia?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No it's one half inch. A piece of half inch cpvc pipe fits inside perfectly.
I want to use this in rows for vegetables, I see there is a hose connector but how do you plug the other end. Looks like the hose ends are to connect to poly tubing?.
John W on May 10, 2012
BEST ANSWER: They sell an end plug for this and also you can fold it over at the end and tape it or tie wrap it. I only used one piece of this and decided that the round drip is the better choice for me as you can curve it around rows and it does not matter if it has bends in it at the turn for the next row. The tape can-not be bent at all! With the drip line(round) I have them spliced together and can run as many feet of them as I want. They use such little water that you could run thousands of feet and not need to worry about having enough water. Place them on a timer and run for a few hours and you still use less water than a hose or normal sprinkler and also keep the weeds and grass away. As with the soaker tape I just bent it over at the end and wrapped electric tape around it and don't even get a drip out of it. Same as kinking a garden hose but much better.

I hope this helped.
Would you recommend staking this to encircle the drip line of a tree?
A shopper on Apr 18, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I would not. Under pressure it forms a straight semi-rigid tube with very thin walls. If you attempted to curve it, I believe it would kink and cut flow to emitters downstream.
I use the rigid brown poly with integrated emitters for my trees. It naturally forms a circle.
can this tape be buried?
Rick B on Jul 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use this soaker tape on my vegetable gardens and I usually just lay it on top of our wood chip mulch.
I have put the mulch on top but I wouldn't consider that buried.
Since this tape is not designed with removable ends (for blowing out the water for winterizing) I would say top of ground only application.
I do have an irrigation system for all of my landscaping but that uses poly tube and sprinkler / immitters.
I will say this soaker tape is very well made, the soakers are reinforced for longer life. Certainly worth the money.
Hope this helps!

What part do I need to splice DIG St100R together? I need to add 14 ft to the 100 ft roll.
Jason B on Jun 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used standard 1/2" plastic funny pipe barbs. A pack of 4 at Home Depot is less than $2.00. I put a layer of standard Teflon pipe tape over the barbs just to make sure the connector slides on easily and finished it of wilt a couple of 1/2" hose clamps tightened just enough to secure the drip tape to the bards. it's worked flawlessly for about two years now. Total cost about $3.00 per connection.
How long does this last? Can it be pulled up and reused for multiple seasons?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it can be reused. If pressure is properly controlled while using and the application has kept it from kinking during use too.
do I need a pressure regulator for the DIG ST100R trip tape I purchased?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I run my system at less than 10psi. I don't think you'll be able to find a water pressure regulator that runs reliably at such low pressure ... at least I couldn't.

My setup is just a 4 line manifold with a 30 psi pressure gauge and a 1/8" restrictor to prevent pressure surges.
Whats the best way to reduce pressure from a 2" PVC down to a drip tape (8gph).?

I purchased your Dig ST100R drip tape and need a coupling to repair a break in line - What size is the dig ST100R drip tape 1/2" or 5/8? I have found coupling but need to know the size of the drip I purchased from you.
