DIG ST500 Flat Drip Tape Flat Soaker Tape (12" Emitter Spacing) (.52 GPH) (500')

  • Flow Rate: 0.8 GPH
  • Coil Size: 500 feet
  • Emitter Spacing: 12 inches

Features & Benefits

Drip Soaker Tape is a flat, thin-walled hose containing pre-spaced drip emitters, that expands when filled with water. The model ST100R for 100 and ST500 for 500 drip soaker tape have in-line drip emitters, welded into to the drip soaker tape every 12 during the extrusion process, allowing for complete saturation coverage along the line. Ideal for drip irrigation of vegetable gardens and row crops including tomatoes, strawberries, melons, peppers, eggplants and more, drip tape can be installed above or below ground or under mulch.

The most efficient use of drip soaker tape is with low flow drip emitters, closely spaced to achieve the desired wetting pattern. Homeowners are successfully using a range of drip irrigation techniques including drip soaker tape systems to grow a variety of crops without the use of traditional sprinkler systems. The drip soaker tape requires special fittings, available in a number of configurations, for exclusive use with the drip soaker tape.

Growing Buffalo Grass using Soaker Tape
Just discovered this tape just last summer and used it to plant long strips of Buffalo Grass Seed in approx 3'x 50' runs and would raise the hydrant handle slightly to allow small amounts of water to enter through the tape and it would flow out the entire 3' width to allow the seed to germinate quickly. Love it as better than sprinklers or hand watering several times a day.

How much mulch or load can this hose take before water does not flow? My concern is a 200' run under pine bark mulch.
kim d on Oct 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Since I placed my soaker tape under landscape fabric, I probably can't accurately answer this question. However, I don't think there would be a problem since the water pressure would probably keep the tape from collapsing. James Williams

500' feet tape. connectors for 11 rows? show me
Sharon on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: you are going to hook the tape to your header and sub header lines via an adapter on the header side and you will use a cap adapter on the end off each line. Each line will be 18" to 36" apart.
How far should the drip tape be spaced apart on a hillside?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You'll have to be a lot more specific than that. In general, on flat ground, at 10psi, this tape will soak an area about 8" on either side of the tape.
Can this drip tape be pulled in by a vibratory plow?
RLawn B on Aug 20, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I bought this soaker tape and used it laying on the surface with rows of strawberries and under landscape fabric with bell peppers. I am not sure if it is substantial enough to be pulled in with a vibratory plow. I had some issues with it stretching and actually rupturing a couple of times in the strawberry application, but I think this was due to the tape being heated by the sun (it gets pretty hot here in Alabama). I realize this wouldn't be an issue if it was underground, but I am still not sure if it would stand up to being pulled in with a plow. The pepper application worked fine. All that being said, let me say that I have no experience with a vibratory plow, but based on my experience with the tape, I would probably try a test run with a small sample before I ordered a large amount.
Hope this helps, James Williams
