Hunter HPV valve diaphragm working well
I ordered this valve diaphragm for the Hunter HPV valve not knowing if this was the correct diaphragm. The photos of the diaphragm really helped in identifying the correct diaphragm and when I received it in the mail, I was relieved to know it was exact. Once I installed the diaphragm, the leak stopped and now my valve is working perfectly.

Solved my problem.
One of my valves was leaking during spring start-up. Was worried I would have to replace entire valve. Diaghragm for Hunter HPV was an exact match, easy to replace and solved my problem. Purchased extras for back-up.

this is most important part to keep your sprinkler system running properly. easy to install and replace old diaphragm. try this first when your zones don't turn on or off properly after you have confirmed your wiring is fine. good luck

After searching for this item at local Big Boxes with no luck, I finally found it online at Sprinkler Warehouse at a better price than others. So I bought three of these diaphragms to repair 2 of my Hunter leaky sprinkler valve and to have an extra one on hand. Thank you

Have Hunter HPV Valve not shutting completely off. Replaced solenoid but last/lower sprinkler head still dribbling. Hunter HPV valve/parts not available at big box store. Hoping I can fix problem by replacing diaphragm(s), (They look a little ragged). Was glad to find your web site.

I have a Hunter HPV Valve that that I need replacement parts for however I can't find any more numbers on the valve. Do all HPV valves use the same internal parts?
Bob C on Apr 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My HPV valves were used in a hot tub and had the same size/style internal parts, but the rubber was a different compound for use in hot tubs with chemicals, the parts do fit and work though.
Does this Valve Diaphragm Assembly also come with a new spring? I ask this question because I have no way to know if the valve seepage is due to a weak spring.
Joe L on May 14, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The valve diaphragm assembly 26-6902 does not come with a spring.

I doubt if the spring is the source of your problem. The elastomeric component (diaphragm) shrinks over time. After seven years of service, many of the original valves that have never been disassembled are now spraying a fine stream of water out between the main body and the top assembly – due to shrinkage of the elastomeric diaphragm. If taken apart and put back in, the leakage is worse. Some replacement diaphragm assemblies started leaking in the same manner in less than a year.

Your leakage through the valve may be related to leakage around the tube-like connection attached to the diaphragm; after shrinkage, which causes excessive bypass leakage, the water flow to the top part of the valve is inadequate to keep the valve from completely closed at lower pressures.

The manufacture needs to change the elasomer formulation and/or increase the flange thickness to accomodate shirkage.
Do you have Hunter HPV Valve?

BEST ANSWER: The valve body and cap have small holes that line up. It prevents a lockup of the valve. Both of these holes need to be cleaned. For the cap I used a small piece of electrical wire to push through, and then compressed air. The body cleaned more easily with the same wire. I did not remove the body nor used compressed air. This is the first recommended step in determining if you need to replace either the solenoid or the diaphragm or both.
I do not know if there are corresponding breathing holes on other Hunter valves.
I have a 6 zone system. Not sure how old.it has hunter heads and control panel. I replace the solenoids on a couple of zones. I want to replace a diaphragm.not getting enough pressure. Don't know what to get.it has a circle of screws on top.what kind of diaphragm should I get? Thank you
A shopper on Jul 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

I assume your talking about your valves. It makes a difference if your using HPV , PGV...etc. Not sure about your circle of screws. Mine have four. One on each corner. I'm using HPV. My valves on the top edge also say HPV (hard to see). If this is your case then I'd say you can get away with part number 26-6902. It's what I've been using for years. The solenoids replacement part number is 60-6800. Hope this helps.
