Hunter Valves

Hunter’s ICV (Irrigation Control Valve) series of valves is designed for applications that demand high flow rates. These valves are known for their rugged construction and are suitable for larger residential and commercial projects.

While it’s generally recommended to use Hunter valves with Hunter controllers for optimal compatibility, many Hunter valves can work with controllers from other brands.

One of the most popular types of Hunter valves is the Hunter PGV. These valves are compatible with a wide range of residential and commercial settings and are extremely durable. Sprinkler Warehouse offers several different styles of Hunter PGVs, some in different sizes, others with flow control, but always built for easy installation.

Hunter’s ICV (Irrigation Control Valve) series of valves is designed for applications that demand high flow rates. These valves are known for their rugged construction and are suitable for larger residential and commercial projects. ICVs are frequently rated for system pressures of 200 psi or more, so they’re sure to accommodate your system.

While it’s generally recommended to use Hunter valves with Hunter controllers for optimal compatibility, many Hunter valves can work with controllers from other brands. As long as the controller uses the correct wiring and the voltage matches, you shouldn’t have a problem.

Similar to other types of valves, start by connecting one common wire from the controller to the common terminal on each valve’s solenoid. Next, connect color-coded wires to each controller zone terminal. Remember to use waterproof connectors to ensure a reliable circuit for years to come. At the controller, attach the white common wire to “COM” and each colored wire to its numbered station terminal.

It will depend on the type of valve you are installing. Hunter anti-siphon valves need to be installed above ground and at least 6 inches higher than the highest sprinkler head to prevent backflow contamination. However, other types of in-line valves, like the PGV and the ICV, are designed for below-ground installation inside a valve box.
