The PGP Ultra takes the foundation of the best-selling PGP Rotor and raises the bar with a variety of new features developed over three decades of research, customer feedback, and lab testing. Among the most notable improvements of the PGP Ultra is its non-strippable drive and automatic arc return. These two features work to allow the turret to be turned without causing damage, and return the turret to its original arc regardless of where it is turned. Other advanced features include 34 nozzle options with several radius choices, and a headed slot and set screw. Excellent upgrade from typical home heads
I bought these to replace 25 of my mixture of old heads. They are easy to aim, have the best spray pattern near the head I have seen, and the stainless steel neck should last a very long time.

The ability to adjust flow down to zero on each head is a nice feature especially when aiming/adjusting heads and I don't want to get wet. May also help adjusting throw.

So far very pleased with my purchase.

Works great, even with the sub par water pressure out of my water spigot I can run 2 at once. Love the number of features, especially the on rotor on/off valve so you can change nozzles without turning the water off

Sprinkler Heads
Vendor makes it easy to find what you are looking for and the ordering process is easy and straight forward. I've been using these Hunter sprinkler heads for over a decade and they work very well, but due to traffic running over them, and general wear, they do need to be replaced every few years.

It's advertised as a 4 in. Pop-up Rotor, but is the pop-up component itself only 4 inches?, or does the entire unit measure 4" prior to the pop up actually extending? I need to know how these are measured in order to order a product that matches the rotor I need to replace.
A shopper on Apr 22, 2013
hi, I currently have Hunter PGP 4" heads/rotors.. What is a good replacement but better quality? The PGP ultra? OR the I20? Looking for something that will last longer. thanks
dan g on Oct 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've had 4 I20's installed for over 2 years, twice a day use, with no issues what so ever. Super easy to adjust. I can't speak for the pgp as I've never used it.
Are there any advantages to the stainless steel sleave other than flashy looks? I need to conserve $ as much as possible but am concerned with cutting down on maintenance and having long lasting reliablility. Thanks for helping me out with your valuable time!
Richard L on Feb 20, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Hi Richard. My name is Mike, and I purchased a bunch of the 120-04-SS rotors last summer to replace failed rotors. I was so impressed, I bought more to replace my remaining heads that had not failed yet. My experience is less than one complete season with these, but so far they are flawless. My hope is that the SS barrel will not "score" from sand like my last brands did, which eventually would not go down when the water went off. That being said, the spring on this model is very strong compared to my last heads, and I doubt that will be a problem with either the plastic or the SS Hunter models. I think its worth the extra 4-5 bucks per head for thr SS. Even if you do the repairs yourself, the constant tinkering with heads gets frustrating when they age. If someone else does your repairs, they would easily pay for themselves. They do look very cool by the way. I am hoping for less maintinence for the money. At the very least, I would put the SS models along roadways, or very sandy drain areas that tend to cause scoing on the barrel, and plastic heads elsewhere. I thought about that when I first ordered them, but liked the SS models so much, I went with them for all my heads.( about 25). I did have one that did not work right coming out of the box, and SW was great in replacing it for me. I have tried several brands in the past, only to be disappointed. These are amazing rotors. Hope this helps you out.. Great sprikler heads! Great service! Mike
I have low city water pressure can I use the i20 stainless steel sprinkler head ?
A shopper on Nov 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have my pressure regulator turned down to 45 psi and they work fine. I'd guess that there is some lower pressure below which the spring would be too strong to allow the head to pop up.
Which hunter I20 6" model has the 180 degree preset and how is it identified?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: All Hunter Rotaries come preset at approximately 180 degrees
Can the water pressure be shut off on the I20 SS head?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Apparently this model comes with something called Flo Stop which does allow the water to be shut off at the head, using the small adjusting tool that comes with it. Frankly I just learned if this feature by looking at the product description on S Warehouse. I have never used this feature. I bought this model solely for the added durability of the inside metal cylinder. Hope this helps.
Does the sprinkler nozzle sit at 4” above the ground or sprinkler body..or does the top of the sprinkler, when fully extended sit at 4”” above the ground level, assuming the sprinkler is installed flush with ground level?
Tom Timko on Nov 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Install the sprinkler unit flush with the ground and the head will pop up 4 inches. these sprinkler heads are nearly indestructible. I have several that have been run over by my neighbor and they just keep on trucking.
I am considering replacing my Rain Bird Impulse sprinklers with either Rain Bird or Hunter Stainless Steel pop up sprinklers. The Rain Bird has a shutoff switch on top of each sprinkler so an individual head can be turned off while the others are still running. I do not see this feature on the Hunter, is there a switch? Any advice on Hunter over Rain Bird?
A shopper on Jun 23, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Hunter has a turn off feature. You are given a "key" that allows you to adjust everything with what the sprinkler head does, which includes turning off the water coming out of the individual head. The sprinkler head will still pop up, but you can turn off the water. All you do is take this "key" and stick it into one of the hole on the top of the head and make all your adjustments from there. I love my Hunters.
P A on Jun 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes all i20’s do. I would recommend check valves absolutely. It keeps the grass and area around the the sprinkler from becoming a muddy mess and reduces overgrowth of the grass right at the sprinkler head.
Do the Hunter I-20 4" Rotors use the same canister as the Hunter PGP and PGP Ultra 4" Rotors? It looks like the I-20 heads can be assembled into the existing PGP plastic canisters in the ground for easy changing / upgrading of leaking heads.
Stephen W on Jul 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I tried the same thing and it looks like it will work, but it doesn't. I ended up having to dig out the heads. I can't remember specifically but the top nut piece is different (thicker and taller) and something about the can is too.
is this the same as Hunter I20-04-SSI-20 Ultra?

Karen M on May 3, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is.
The I20-04-SS: I20 is the model, 04 stands for 4 inch rise when it pops out of the ground and the SS stands for Stainless Steel bodies which are worth the extra few dollars.

I've have done business with Sprinklerwarehouse for a number of years. They have been great. And even took care of me when I accidently ordered the wrong height. Still the best price. I usually buy 4 at a time as I'm either replacing plastic bodies that are breaking apart or replacing ones that I broke with the snowblower. Good luck. Hope this helps.
Does the i20-04-ss have a check valve or is that a separate purchase?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does. All you had to do was click on the Specification page to see that it has "Drain check valve (up to 10' of elevation)"

Hope that helps!
can you buy just the top cap that the lawmower chewed off?
A shopper on Mar 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Personally, I have not had any occasion to do this. But, listed under features and benefits, it says the rubber cover is factory installed. My guess is no, based on the factory installed feature....

how do yo adjust the the sprinkler head ?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2011
BEST ANSWER: There's two adjustments on two different holes at the top of the sprinkler, using the two different ends of the special tool that comes with it:

1. Adjusting the stream of water and the distance of stream using the metal end of the special tool.

2. Adjusting the radius with the plastic end of the special tool, from 10-degrees to 350-degrees. The sprinkler comes from the factory set at 180-degrees.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
Does the Hunter I-20 4" SS heads have built in check valves in the bottom of the heads? Thanks Mark
A shopper on Jul 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they do have a check valve. Refer to their specs on hunters website for details (I'm not allowed to paste the link)
Wondering whether sprinkler can be used for acid pressure instead of water pressure?
Kenaan on Nov 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This sounds like a question for the manufacturer. We have not used the sprinkler for anything other than water.
Is this part eaasy to change in an existing underground irrigation system.?We just need to change the head because I backed over it and cracked a plastic part inside the sprinkler head.
A shopper on Jul 1, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Just dig out around the head a bit...after that...take a pliers or channel lock that fits around the circumference of the body of the head and another one to the very top of the castle shaped bonnet. Turn the bonnet counter clock wise while holding the body stationary with the bottom pliers. the two pliers will be placed so as seem the handles of the two pliers would be coming together. the botom pliers should remain in the same position and only the top pliers should move. It's called bucking. You don't want the body to turn (counter clock wise) for that may loosen the entire head from the pipe threads on the bottom and create a leak. I am presuming you have a replacement cartridge assembly from a new head. this is the simpilist and cost effective way to fix your problem, I will try to attach the installation instructions. If it doesn't work...they are available via the 120 spec page in pdf format. I suggest you just print them out if possible. Take care Dennis
Does anybody know what is the lowest water pressure that the Hunter 120-04-SS will operate? I like the stainless steel collar, less maintenance in my very sandy soil but am concerned about them popping up because of the heavy duty spring.
Joey D on Apr 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry. That question is over my head. I suggest u call Hunter. I found them to be very helpful even though I am not a big customer of theirs.
what part is this measured to know if I need a 4 or 6 inch sprinkler head? Above collar? or from top of threaded collar to bottom base? Help. Thanks
A shopper on Aug 18, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I have these heads in my system and the height is from the top of the threaded collar to the top of the head when it is in operation. In other words, it is the distance that the spray head pops up.
