Hunter RFC Wired Rain And Freeze Sensor
Most rain-sensing devices work by accumulating a set amount of rainfall before a switch is activated that interrupts the circuit from the controller and shuts off the system. In that accumulation time, the system will unnecessarily continue to water. This can look especially bad for conservation-conscious municipalities, businesses, and residences. With built-in Quick Response technology, the Hunter Rain-Clik and Wireless Rain-Clik can command a controller to shut off right when it starts to rain. The Rain-Clik can be mounted on an eave or any flat vertical surface like a wall or fence. A gutter mount is also available that allows for easy installation of the Rain-Clik on the edge of a gutter.

It is connected to the timer/controller by low voltage wires. The power comes from the timer/controller which may or may not have a battery backup so you do not loose the program on power failure.
Apparently there is no battery that needs to be replaced. What can one do to reset the sensor, or is it not repairable?
There are no batteries to replace on this unit, it is hard wired to your controller unit thusly it gets its power from the controller.
If you are looking to buy a new unit, look at the solar sync by hunter, it comes in both wired and not wired options as well as adjusts your watering daily, not just on and off as with this and most other sensors. I like the X-Core Hunter controllers with the wireless sensor set up the best, very easy to install and maintain, but if you need to save a couple of bucks the wired sensor works as well, just have to put up with a wire running down from a roof top to your indoor or outdoor controller
