how do you make it work?
A shopper on May 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Basically it is a handle to help unscrew the solenoid 1/2 turn or so. That is how you manually turn the valve on and off. It goes on the bottom of the solenoid. Hope this helps.
is this for winterizing to drain the valve?
Frank L on Mar 30, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I Don't think so. We use this to manually opperate the sprinkler zone it feeds, Use it to bleed air out of the system in the spring. We turn the main h2o supply on then open those valves till we have h2o to the zone. Sumetimes opening and closing several times to clear any crud out of the valve. We do that to all the zones connected to the controll box that opperates those zone-valves. Once we know the valves have h2o and some sprinlkers pop up, we turn on the controll box and then run through all the zones (on manual from the box). then go from there ie: valves that dont turn on, guisers from broke heads, heaves in the ground( under ground leaks)
When we winterise, we used compressed air instead of h20 and go through all the zones from controll box : several times till all we get is air coming out the sprinklers. A 15min. pause between each round of air; to let the h2o srttle in the lines.
Is this for a 1" lawn genie?

BEST ANSWER: for a 1" rainbird vale with an Irritrol 6 volt latching solinoidEnter an answer to this question.
I have a irritrol 2711apr valve. The part where the solenoid screws into cracked. I just need the part that screws into the valve. Will this work?
pat h on Sep 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I looked at the Irritrol : 700-2-2 in. The manual on/off rotating lever appears to be the same, most all the solenoid assy. are the same from 1 in. valve to the largest valve so if you have an irritrol valve with the manual rotating lever for on/off or "Bleed". that will work for you. I know you can get the levers cause I have bought many spares. Your best bet is to get the whole solenoid assy., with the part that the lever turns and the lever(maybe a couple extras) and the solenoid. They are easy to wire up. 2 wires, just disconnect and connect one at a time, doesn't matter which one is which, same color and it's low voltage ( 24V-DC) so you wont get electrified, if you do it's no more than sticking your tongue on a 9V battery. Do you push this lever side to side or up and down or twist it like a key ?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: On my system, it fits on the bottom of the solenoid, pushing it side to side rotates the solenoid thus opening or closing the valve.
how do you extract the manual bleeder control valve to replace it?
Mark J on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I accidentally broke mine off of the valve. It is supposed to unscrew from the solenoid
My anti siphon control valve is leaking from the diaphram. I've taken it apart, cleaned out any debris and securely tightened all 6 screws with no luck. Is there a replacment part available to fix this issue or do I need a completely new valve? It is an Irritrol 7000
