Excellent relay
Bought it as a backup for my Lindel relay which has lasted for over 25 years. The Irritrol SR-1 is identical except for the name. Looks like a super product!

Currently, I have a 120volt pump and I will changing to a 240 volt pump motor.
Do I need to change any connections at the relay or can I just make changes at the breaker panel and the pump?
C M on Aug 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Changes in the connections at the relay box will be needed. Some relays arrive prewired for 210/220 but check and double check your connections. A wiring diagram comes with it to show how it's done. Also keep in mind that this relay(SR1) is only rated for a 3hp max electric motor.

BEST ANSWER: Only if you have a booster pump or dedicated well pump that is on/off when an irrigation zone is on/off. Pumps are line voltage (115/230) and the relay uses the controller output of 24v to switch the pump on/off.
why do i need a pump starter relay?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2012
BEST ANSWER: By using Pump Start relay you use the pump circuit of your controller in order to activate relay. When you use Pump Start Relay you don't need pressure tank, nor pressure switch.Just make sure there is no air leaks on suction line .When controller sends signal to PSR to turn pump ON it should draw water immediately.Otherwise it will loose prime.
In this case pressure tank has advantage. It maintains prime of the pump.
I have self prime centrifugal pump ,and I used SR-1 Pump Start Relay, and I couldn't be happier.Good quality products, works great.
Hope this helps.
