Irritrol RFS1000 Wireless Rain/Freeze Se
It rained the day after I installed it, when the rain got up to the level I set, it turned the sprinkler system off. It will do the same thing when it gets below freezing. It turns itself back on automatically. Very convenient! We are in severe drought conditions and it helps save water. The wireless range is very strong also.

Does the $70.24 price include both the sensor and receiver?

if I buy one to replace the one I have how does it mate up to the existing system, is there an address on it?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It's just a couple of wires. You should read the documentation, though, to make sure the sensor operation is compatible with what your controller needs from the Sensor. Mine appears to be compatible, but it doesn't shut the controller off even when the indicator light suggests it should.
I am trying to connect this sensor to the CyberRain control box. How can this be done without directly connecting to DC wire?
A shopper on May 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: There are two parts to this unit. The receiver connects to the control box and should be mounted next to the control box. The other is the wireless rain sensor that should be placed in a position away from the control box and in a position to be able to detect rain & or freezing weather.

There should be wiring diagrams in the box - there were with mine - to show you how to connect the receiver to the control box.
How frequently do you need to change the batteries?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2011
BEST ANSWER: I have yet to change the batter, but plan on a yearly maintenance cycle of replacement at the first of the year.
Why is red light blinking ?
Big Rich on Sep 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Because you pressed the bypass button, press it again and the light will stop blinking, if the light stays on red the wireless sensor must be wet , until it drys out then the light goes away
my controller is in the basement. If I put it on the gutter above it, will I get a strong enough signal? Line of sight says 300 feet.
jeff i on Jun 2, 2012
BEST ANSWER: My controller and rain/freeze sensor is in a basement and mounted on a concrete basement wall about 5' below ground. My sensor is in the ground about 28' away horizontally. I use it only as a rain sensor and take it in when I drain the system for the winter. It has worked fine.

I have Rain Bird ESP-6TM connected to Irritrol RFS-1000. Sprinklers were not responding. I turned off the RFS-1000 receiver and sprinklers responded. RFS-1000 was installed in 2015. What is wrong with it? Can it be fixed? Paul
