Variable Arc Nozzles
My latest shipment of Toro Variable ARC Nozzels do not seem quite as good as previous ones I have purchased. Maybe they are made in a different country or by a different supplier. I found that they don't always hold the setting where I set them. So in a few days many need adjustment for spray position or spray pattern. I have to turn the arc adjustment back to zero and then on again to get a full, even spray pattern. Sometimes I have to reset the amount of arc as the action of the spray head popping up and down through the grass over several waterings seems to change the arc of the nozzle a bit. I like the idea of a variable arc nozzle but I would always used a fixed spray nozzle before using a TVAN unless I just can't get the proper angle of spray pattern out of a fixed spray nozzle.

Great nozzles!
These adjustable nozzles are very flexible and easy to use. The only downside is that sometimes the spray adjustment changes when run over with the lawn tractor.

what does TVAN mean?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: VAN is an acronym for Variable Arc Nozzle. This means that the nozzle can be adjusted from nearly 10 degrees to 360 degrees. As they use more water than fixed nozzles, refer to the charts available from the manufacturer, or consult a certified irrigation designer or contractor to assist you with selection.
