Toro Mini 8 Rotor Series

Simple to use, water-efficient, and versatile, the Mini 8 Series does it all. When spray heads won't do the job and a full-size rotor is just too much, you need the Mini 8 from Toro®. Designed to fill in that hard to cover an area between 20' (6.1m) and 35' (10.7m), the Mini 8 provides great value and water efficiency for your landscapes. The Mini 8 has a simple to use top-of-rotor arc setting feature that ensures easy and accurate arc adjustments from 40 degrees to reversing full-circle 360 degrees. Furthermore, the 1/2” female-thread inlet, pressure-activated riser seal, a robust trip mechanism, ratcheting riser, and pre-installed 1.5 GPM nozzle combine for easy installations and reliable long-term performance.

The Mini 8 nozzles are designed for the efficient watering of smaller spaces, which means water savings when compared to full-size rotors. When compared to fixed sprays, the flexibility of the Mini 8 reduces the number of heads required, which in turn reduces the number of valves and stations needed. In either scenario, the Mini 8 brings together money savings and better water management.

  • Top Arc Indication - Ensures easy adjustments from 40° to 360° with visual feedback of arc change by reading the scale.
  • Stainless Steel Radius Adjustment Screw - Allows up to 25% reduction.
  • Part And Full Circle In One - Offers convenience and reduces inventory requirements.
  • Five Interchangeable Nozzles - To cover varying flow and radius requirements (comes pre-installed with a 1.5 nozzle).
  • Pressure Activated Seal - Minimizes flow-by during pop-up and keeps debris away from stem during retraction.

Sent defective products and would not replace without it costing me effectively the price of buying a new one
I purchased 4 of these. One was defective and does not rotate. Upon calling sprinkler warehouse customer service, they wanted me to send the defective product back to them(at a cost of $8.95) and pay for the shipping of a new one($8.95) for a part that cost $9.48. After discussing it with them they offered to send me one out for $8.95. It’s about the same price to purchase locally so this makes no sense. I effectively paid 25% more for the 3 working sprinklers than I could have purchased locally. I will not purchase from them again.

Toro mini-8 rotor
It works perfectly with existing valve. It has very robust & flexible designs to cover various angles. It can also adjust the amount of water coming out from the sprinkler;

This pop up sprinkler rotates a spray, not a stream, of water. The spray works okay, but if your looking for a stream performance, this is not the sprinkler for you.

What usually is wrong when it quits rotating?
Fred S on Jul 14, 2011
BEST ANSWER: I've never had one stop turning. Usually they develope leaks around the seal where the stem pops up or the top is damaged by lawn mower or owner mis handling or the red insert for gallons per minute is blown out of the head. My usual maintenance is to unscrew the top and then remove the whole insert checking it for dirt or damage. While the assembly is removed I try to clean the inside of the unit by flushing gently with water hose and re-assemble. I suppose if the head has stopped turning then one can assume there is dirt or something clogging the mechanism inside or the gears have been broken or melted from heat. I say melted because if you use too much air pressure when winterizing then you blow the unit dry and the plastic gears have no water for lubrication they may get hot annd melt or break or just become too damaged to work. If cleaning does not help the stopped head then replace the defective unit.

BEST ANSWER: The Toro TRT5P is a good one for one replacement. I have replaced several Super 800s and the T5 works fine.

I have several Toro Mini-8's that have water leaking out from around the head area. This appears to be from dirt/grit getting into the moving parts of the head/lift assembly. I noticed that new Toro Mini-8's have some type of grease/lubricant on them. What type of grease is this and will this help reduce water leakage since the sprinkler head will be easier to lift from the sprinkler body?
Tom S on Apr 16, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I don't know for sure, but it looks a bit like the white lithium grease you can buy at auto parts stores for use on lubricating such things as door hinges. Just speculation on my part.
I thought that the mini-8s were nearly 360 degrees -- what do you mean by "partial circle"?
Everett H on Apr 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They can spray anywhere from 360 degrees down to probably under 45 degrees. They can be adjusted easily.
