Modified design but works fine
The original diaphragm had two large washers in the center, held together by a stainless steel screw. This replacement diaphragm does not require installing those washers. It works great.

I have 5 Weathermatic valves in my yard that have lasted 30+ years and one finally needs replacing, so I ordered five and might as well change all of them at once to avoid problems in the near future.

I need replace my diaphragm for my weathermatic valve. I tried to clean the diaphragm but it did not work. So I am looking for the right parts. it seems this is the right part but it does not look like the one I have. the difference is that the one I have is a circle, but this one with additional tiny extrusion with small four holes. I noticed that some other online stores have part #110-003SA which does not have the tiny additional stuff. I am just wondering if this part fits my existing valve?

Thanks for your help and have a good day!

Simple question, may even seem dumb. I opened up two valves side by side to see which one might have a bad diaphragm, and found one was installed flat side up toward the top of the valve, and one was installed with the conical side toward the top of the valve. Which side should be on top flat or conical? I can't find any drawings of the inside of the valve and how the diaphragm is placed.

Does the small "O" ring come with the new diaphragm?
Crayton M on Jun 25, 2012
What is the diameter of this diaphragm? And can you buy the spring separately from this company?
Timothy P on Jan 18, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Nominal O. D. is 2 11/16 inches. I have never had occasion to buy a spring so am not sure they are available separately. I did have a warped valve top and was able to get one at my local Weathermatic dealer. Perhaps a spring might be available at your locall dealer. Otherwise check an on line spring dealer/catalogue for one of a similar configuration.
which way does the 110-003SAK diaphragm go inside the valve-which side up?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The diaphragm goes with the protruding part down. It should look like a shallow funnel when installed. If you have an older valve, be sure to tear off the little tab that comes on the replacement diaphragm, there is no place for it.
JOHN W on Jun 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: even if you replace the diaphragm? I've experienced this before. The bolts may not be tight enough , or the top of the valve has warped over time, not allowing for a good seal. (hence the leakage.) even with the zone off there is still some pressure in the line that may weep at some heads...(depending on the manufacturer you're using). For example, Hunter heads( I 25) have a foot valve built in to the head to alieviate this problem . so do some rainbirds, etc...But- if all the heads in that zone weep it's obviously the valve... the quickest fix is replacing the diaphragm first....then the valve top (no cutting and glueing) ...and head and/or valve replacement
How do I know which diaphragm to buy? I can find the part number on my valve. The valve was made in 2003. It is marked 1" 150 psi/103 BAR.
joselago on Jul 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There appears to be only one diaphragm for the 12000 series valve, although the pic shown probably does not match the original in your valve. The new diaphragm has holes in the tab but does work. My valves are starting to fail because the tabs have been worn off. Reason--depends on whom you ask.
My valves are leaking where the 2 halves of the body meet. Why? Do I need new diaphragm.
A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I believe so. I have a gang of six valves that unexplicably started to leak after about a year in service. I tried retorqing, cleaning and re-installing and using sealer. All to avail. So I purchased new diaphragms. At the instal, I ensured the halves were clean and the fasteners were torqued EVENLY. The valves have been fine ever since. I believe the diaphragm develops a 'set', when in service. If a leak develops or the valve is dis-assembled; a new diaphragm should be installed as simple insurance against leaking.
I have a Weathermatic 125 valve. Not sure this is correct diaphragm. Can you please direct me to the correct part?
robert f on Sep 2, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Sorry my husband just removed the Diaphragm from ours and matched it up to the pictures on Sprinkler Warehouse website. Wish we could be of more help.
When installing do you put the raised part up or down?
Bill S on Aug 12, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Down with the tab toward the solenoid. The round opening in the body is the valve seat and the flat portion of the diaphragm must engage there to close the valve. Don't forget to put the spring between the valve top and the diaphragm when reassembling.
I have an older Weathermatic valve that looks like the 4-bolt 1" silver, but mine is black. Standard lawn application. The diaphragms are failing and I am trying to find new. Mine have the 4-bolt flange pattern as part of the diaphragm, as well as a lip ring seal. Is this the same as the ones shown without the bolt patterns?
Mopar512Guy on Oct 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No I don't think so.
What spring do I use for the 12000 valve?
Allen on Jul 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The 12000 series valves use some common parts... The common parts diaphragm spring is part # 45-113..
They also list a S20P Acuator Spring Assembly part # 112-015A... Allen I do not know why Sprinkler Warehouse asked that I answer this question but, I'm to do so if it helps you out.. I will say I'm very pleased with the parts and service I have recieved from them... I will add that the Weathermatic Valve is the best valve I have ever purchased and installed.. Reliability is better than any other brand I have installed.. tw.
Does this diaphragm come with a spring?
Timothy P on Jan 18, 2012
BEST ANSWER: No it does not but it has worked fine without a new spring.
My valve is leaking from the top. I cleaned and saw no dirt to cause leak. Assuming the right model valve, will replacing this diaphragm take care of the leak? What's the normal life of the diaphragm?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Replacing it cured my leaky valves. You may also want to replace the spring that holds the diaphragm in place. It seems that even very small imperfections in the diaphragm and small amounts of algae that grow on the diaphragm can cause a leak.

I don't know what a "normal" life is, but in a 39 zone system I had until I sold the property last year, I found myself replacing 3 or 4 diaphragms each year over the six years we owned the property.
