Underground Communication Cable Armored + Shielded Wire 16 AWG

This specification covers requirements for an underground shielded cable designed to transmit and receive signals between irrigation satellites, central computers, weather stations, and sensors. The cable utilizes stranded insulated conductors, aluminum shield and drain wire to minimize electrical, magnetic, and radio frequency interference. The cable is listed by UL or ETL or CSA.

  • Cable Assembly: The insulated conductors and the drain wire are twisted together with a 3" maximum lay
  • Jacket: Black Polyethylene, sunlight and moisture resistant.
  • Conductors: Stranded soft annealed tin coated copper conforming to ICEA S-56-434.
  • Roundness: Cable to be round and smooth with no convolutions.

controller wire which to use?

BEST ANSWER: Not exactly sure what u mean controller wire... if u mean from controller to solenoid u need a hot wire and ground to each solenoid u have. So a 4 zone system has 4 solenoids. They can all share the ground wire but need a dedicated power wire. If all valves are close to each other and u have 4 u could use 18 5 or 16 5 depending on the length u need to run the wire. If there far apart run 16 2 or 18 2 to each zone
