Hunter PCC1200i 12 Zone Indoor Sprinkler Timer with Plugin Transformer

  • Hunter PCC Indoor Controller
  • 12 Stations (Fixed)
  • Standard Controller

Features & Benefits

The Pro-C has proven to be the most reliable and robust controller in the industry, with the flexibility to expand on demand due to its modular design. When expansion isn't necessary, the fixed 6 and 12 station models offer affordability in a high-end residential controller. Now, the Pro-C will easily accommodate Hunter's Solar Sync without additional wiring. The new Solar Sync dial position makes it easy to upgrade and program any Pro-C to smart control. The Hunter Solar Sync is an EPA WaterSense labeled smart device which calculates evapotranspiration (ET) and adjusts Hunter controllers daily based on local weather conditions, resulting in water savings and conservation. The Pro-C and all AC powered Hunter controllers are now EPA WaterSense labeled when paired with the Solar Sync weather sensor.

Advanced Features

By adding a Solar Sync™ to your Hunter controller, it transforms into a smart controller using local weather conditions to tailor watering schedules to actual conditions on the site. A Hunter controller with Solar Sync has been independently proven to have a detailed list of water saving features and has been approved by the EPA as a WaterSense Smart Watering Controller. Click here to learn more about Smart Controllers

A manual back-up utility that stores complete controller scheduling and setup information in back-up memory. This allows the saved watering schedule to be restored at any time. This can be used to set a controller back to its initial settings after tampering or at the beginning of a new season.

Automatic short circuit protection is a feature found in all Hunter AC powered controllers. This feature automatically detects electrical faults, which are typically caused by wiring issues. Only affected stations are skipped, allowing all other stations to water normally as programmed. There are no fuses to blow or internal circuit breakers to trip, so complete irrigation system shutdown is avoided.

The QuickCheck feature makes field wiring issues easy to assess with the push of a button. QuickCheck displays an ERR message when a field wiring short is detected on a particular station number.

This feature allows for quick adjustments to irrigation run times through a percentage scale. During peak season, set the seasonal adjustment to 100%. If weather conditions require less water, enter the appropriate percentage value (i.e. 50%) to cut down irrigation run times without the need to adjust each station in the program. This model offers two different ways to use Seasonal Adjustment to reduce water usage: Global and Daily.

Global: The Global option provides a Seasonal Adjustment percentage to all station Run Times on all of the controller's Programs.

Daily: With the addition of a Solar Sync ET Sensor, the controller has the ability to automatically implement daily adjustments based on measured local weather.

Users can program a delay between stations as the controller advances from one station to the next. This delay can range from a few seconds (to permit slow-closing valves additional time to close) to a much longer period of time (to allow pressure tanks time to recharge), based on user requirements.

The ability to specify which program will be shut down in response to a specific sensor alarm. This allows programs unaffected by the sensor to continue automatic operations.

Day(s) of the week can be programmed OFF in advance, so that irrigation does not occur regardless of program interval schedules. For example, if the gardener mows the lawn on Saturday, the Non-Water Days feature allows Saturday to be programmed OFF, so that watering will not occur.

Hunter 12 Zone controller
My old controller finally died after 25 years. I think the central knob contacts wore out. Since I was happy with the original I looked for another Hunter controller and found this replacement. Installation was super easy, instructions very clear. I loved that the main panel is removable from the outer enclosure--makes installation easier. Works fine. I liked the ability to manually run a station with only a single button.

Exact Replacement
Bought this to replace the same model that was 15 years old. I liked that it was a direct replacement. Mounting used the same holes in the wall and the wire connections were just as easy. No issues at all, it just works.

I need a 11 zone controller to replace my rainbird, Is this the best one or is any other better? Also do you carry the Solar sensor for this?
First Name L on Apr 28, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if this is the best one or not, but I can tell you I bought one about a year ago and I've been real pleased with it so far. It was a quantum leap above the Toro unit that I had previous. The solar sensor integrates quite nicely into the unit. No regrets so far.
Does the Hunter PCC1 1200i come with and attached AC power cord ?
michael o on Jul 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does. I bought this unit again after the first one got fried by a lightning strike - along with a garage door opener, TV, cable modem, etc. It is easy to install. I suggest using 4 corner screws into drywall plugs if you cannot mount with screws into studs (this will make it more secure). Although you can run individual zones manually, I'd like a feature that allows you to run an entire program manually (instead of having to reset the program start time to accommodate manually running a program). Aside from that I am very happy with the unit.
does unit maintain programmed setting after power out?
Alexo on Aug 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will as long as you have a 9 volt battery installed and as long as it lasts. It will only keep memory it will not run the system!
Is there enough moduals included with this controller to run 10 zones?
A shopper on Apr 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My Hunter PCC 1200i 12 Zones Indoor Sprinkler Timer has 12 zones built in with a connector pole for all 12 already installed. However, 12 zones is the max limit that this timer can be set to control in each of the 3 programs and it can not be expanded .
Just making sure, are there 12 fixed station included?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes there are a maximum of 12. I don’t think this model is expandable.
I have a Hunter Pro-C 300 with two expansion modules for a total of 8 zones. Right now I'm getting an Err message for each zone - nothing will work. Local sprinkler company said all wiring outside is good and that the controller needs replacing. Their quote is 2x as much as this model. Would this be an appropriate choice to swap in as a replacement? Is it as simple as disconnecting wires from the old and attaching them to similarly labeled screw?
DryYard18 on Sep 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: When I replaced my ancient nine zone Hunter Controller with their PCC1200i 12 zone controller, all I did was tag the wires with the post number where they were attached, swap the controllers and attach the wires to the new controller on the same number post as the tag. Programming the controller was a bit different, but once programmed, everything worked fine. .
does it come with modules?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the PCC1200i is not a modular controller, which means it is not expandable. The number of stations on this controller is set to 12, so it does not come with an expansion module. Thanks!

is the remote controlled included with the PCC1200i 12 zone indoor controller?
A shopper on Aug 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No it's not, you need to buy a separate remote control unit called Roam (or Roam XL)
Explain the difference between conventional and modular models ?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The modular is more expensive but allows you to ad zones later. If you know the number of zones and it won't change the conventional model works well, particularly for residential applications.
Does this model have a pump start mode that can trigger a pump start relay?
A shopper on Jul 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does have a pump stater.
Will my old pro c wireless remote work with the new 12 zone unit? How about my rain sensor.
A shopper on Jul 10, 2013

I'm sure the rain sensor will work. As for the remote, the manual states that a wiring harness is included, so that Hunter SRR or Long Range ICR remote will work. But have no direct knowledge.

Good luck.

Does this timer have a delay feature between zone changes for systems that are on wells?
A shopper on Apr 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: yes this one does!

Delays between stations shall be programmable in 5 second increments from 0 to 60 seconds and in 1-minute increments from 60 seconds up to 4 hours. A pump start/master valve circuit shall be included, and shall be programmable by station.

I would also advise to make sure there is a Tank setup involved in the design to keep pressure in the lines. Theres a little more to this , but its a start ,
What is the difference between the PRO-C1200 and 1200i?
Gary W on Sep 4, 2012
BEST ANSWER: the above answer is incorrect. The i stands for INDOOR, which means it does not have an internal transformer. It comes with an external plug in transformer and a plastic, non-waterproof cover.
On my Hunter Plus Controller box, when I turn the knob to the System Off position- the display does not respond. It stays in the timed (working mode). Does this mean I need a new Controller box?
John C on May 30, 2019

Does this unit offer cycle and soak and can it control landscaping lights?
A shopper on May 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Don't know about cycle and soak but yes on landscape lights. I like the unit for its broad capability and simple operation.
Do I have to add any module?
A shopper on Aug 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You do not need modules for zones. This unit is fully capable of dealing with up to 12 zones. The power transformer (included) is easily attached and plugged into a nearby outlet. You can add any of the various rain sensors, but I have not found the least expensive one to be useful - I just move it to "Off" when rain is in the forecast. The zones are easily wired. This is a great design. I even use a separate program to blow out the system for its winter shutdown - that way I don't have to sit on the thing for 45 minutes while my air compressor clears the pipes.
Does this unit have an internal fuse?
A shopper on Jan 28, 2012
BEST ANSWER: no!! does not have fuse. not exactly sure how it works but it has built in surge protection. also, you do not need a battery for this to work. it stores programs and time on computer chip so when power comes up it will operate as programed.
What is the difference in the indoor vs outdoor models besides the transformer being internal vs external. Both have same operating temps. Waterproofing?
What happens to the unit if the temp gets below 0 degrees? Will it damage the unit or just not operate. Live in Minnesota.

Can this 12-zone controller be expanded to 15-zone if needed in the future?
Cary W on Jul 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: No, the PCM are the modular controls. The PCC is a fixed number of zones. The PCM 3 zone can be outfitted up to 15, but it is cheaper to buy the PCC 15 from the beginning than outfitting with additional modules into the PCM. Hope this helps.
Does this Controller Replace The Hunter Pro-C Model PC 300?
John S on Jun 3, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The PC 300 is the standard 3 zone if you buy the PCC 12 then you will have more than needed. if you only have 3 zones, then try to find another 3 zone controller or 6. you do not want to over pay.
