Excellent Product
All of our pop-ups are Hunter, about 15 years old. My current project was pulling them all to replace seals, check for leaks, etc. I decided to try these Hydro-Rain rotors in cases where I needed to replace the Hunter rotors.
If you didn't see the product logo on the top cap, you'd swear these were Hunter rotors. I haven't tried yet but it looks like the Hunter seals and nozzles will fit these, however as mentioned this needs to be verified. Interior construction and operation also looks identical to the Hunter rotors.
Out of the box, the 10 Hydro-Rains that I bought all worked perfectly, just a couple changes here and there to the nozzles to fine-tune the spray. Let's hope these last 15 years too. Very pleased with price and quality, highly recommended at this initial point.

Hunter sprinklers
Put my first hunter sprinklers in around here about 13 - 14 years ago. Still going strong. I installed these around my shop with no issues and I’m sure they’ll do fine. Thanks

Hydro-Rain HRX-075 4" Pop-Up Rotor
I ordered 10 of these, but have only replaced 2 so far from my existing system. The 2 have been in operation for more than a month with no problems. Works as well as the Hunter brand at a much lower price. The Hunters are very old (not sure how old, but house was built in late '80's) and still working, so I cannot say Hydro-Rain will last as long. So far, so good.

Wanted to give these a try as the Hunter heads albeit good, price has kind of crept up over the last couple of years, if Hydro-rain performs as well I might entertain switching. Or you can send a message to Hunter to tell them to get back inline :-)

Do you still help diy homeowers with design suggestions for sprinkler layouts if we send you a survey of property with house, trees and flower beds located?

how to set the hunter heads ?
A shopper on Jun 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: With the "T" end of the key inserted in the adjustment slot rotate the head counter clockwise to the stop position. This is the spot where the head will return to so make sure when you install it that the stop position points to the direction you want the head to start. This is especially important against a fence or in a corner. Now you can use the key to adjust the spray area, turn the key clockwise to increase the arc or counter clockwise to decrease the arc. To adjust the spray use the hex end of the key and push it into the arrow on top of the head. Screw it down to decrease the height of the spray or you can loosen the screw to change the spray nozzle with the supplied replacements.

All in all pretty easy but plan on getting wet.
CAN I USE THIS ON A HUNTER BASE AND JUST USE THE TOP END?
A shopper on Jul 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not sure what you are asking. I doubt it would fit in a Hunter "can". You should be able to simply "unscrew" the Hunter and replace with this unit. This unit has a 3/4" female inlet which is pretty standard.
do you need a special tool to adjust the heads or will a rain bird tool work?
Jay H on Apr 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It comes with the tool needed to adjust the heads
Warranty period for this head please?
