Easy Retro-fit
I had 6 of these valves that were in use for 20 years. Replaced one solenoid a few years back. I installed one new valve while creating a new zone. For the others, I removed the screws and pulled the top parts and the diaphragm. Then I dismantled the new valves and substituted the new diaphragm and top parts onto the lower bowl of the existing valves. This gave me new valve performance without disturbing the pvc joints. There is nothing on the lower bowl that will wear, so this method is a time saver.

Reliable valve
I purchased 12 of these to replace the top end on my existing valves. Mine were 18 years old and I had one that leaked slightly and another was not delivering full flow. I believe that was more than excellent service life, so I ordered these to replace the top end of all of my existing valves. That is a very cost effective way to replace all moving parts. We'll see if they last another 18 years!

I have similar products in my yard. They are reliable and I want to maintain the level of equipment I have. A previous home owner planted a citrus tree too close to my existing valve so this new one will save me a lot of trouble not far down the road from now.
Tom M on May 23, 2018
It was cheaper to buy the entire valve then individual components. I'll be using all the parts except the valve body.

is there a document available to a customer that shows how to test the valve to determine if it is working properly, how to make adjustments to an installed valve to have it work properly??
Bill T on Apr 11, 2012
I have one section in my sprinkler system that the water pressure has been slowly diminishing. Last night, the pressure would not even push up the 4 sprinkler heads to water the lawn. I tested other areas in the system and they work properly.

Is this a solenoid issue or could something be blocking the line keeping water from reaching the heads?
Roger on Jun 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have this same issue with this valve. Also, loosening the bleed valve did not activate water to this section of the system. Any thoughts.
valve wont shut off.... i draw water from a pond with a very fine screen filter on it.....can the valve have dirt stuck in it or what????
A shopper on Jun 18, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It is most likely that dirt (sand) is interfering.I SUGGEST YOU REMOVE THE SOLENOID (UNSCREW COUNTER-CLOCKWISE) AND INSPECT THE ORFICE (SMALL HOLE UNDER SOLENOID PLUNGER. IF THAT DOESN’T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE SCREWS HOLDING THE CAP ON. CAREFULLY REMOVE CAP & DIAPHRAM…INSPECT & CLEAN WITH FRESH WATER. PUT BACK TOGETHER AND TEST. IF IT STILL DOES NOT SHUT OFF THEN I SUGGEST YOU REPLACE THE SOLENOID & DIAPHRAM WITH NEW PARTS FROM ANOTHER VALVE. I recommend that you start with the selin
Is their any advice as to how to remove existing valve and replace it with new valve; i.e. slip fitting, threaded, et. ?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2012
does this valve come w/ the solenoid?
A shopper on May 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes this valve comes with the solenoid and is ready to be installed.
Can the 205sf be mounted in any orientation?
Jay V on Sep 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: yes
My16 year old Hardie 205S valve was sticking open and would not shut off. I opened it up and found the rubber gasket was all warped and needs to be replaced. Do you sell just this part or just the top section with the solonoid and flow control? I want to be sure that the top would fit mine perfectly. Please advise. thanks
Karl

I need a 205S. Is this the same? My does not have that black thing sticking up.

Thanks,
Scott
Scott O on Jul 8, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Hi - The extra knob on the 205SF is for flow control. That's what the F in the part number indicates. The S is for slip valve. You may need to play with the flow control position. It worked for me. Best of luck.
