K-Rain RPS 75 Rotor

Features & Benefits

K-Rain's RPS® 75 gear drive rotor is designed for residential and light commercial applications. The reliable, durable design is the foundation of K-Rain's RPS Rotor line. This workhorse is built to perform trouble-free for years and has unequalled value in the market. Our patented reversing mechanism, on which all rotors are based upon today, assures continuous reverse and return. With K-Rain's wide selection of standard and low angle nozzles, the RPS 75™ provides even water distribution.

A direct replacement for the Hunter PGP® rotor, with our time-proven, patented reversing mechanism (the same used in the Hunter PGP®), the RPS75® drops directly in an installed Hunter PGP® can.

  • Direct Replacement for Hunter® PGP®.
  • Right Position Start – Rotor rotates counterclockwise from fixed right start position.
  • Riser Fits in Existing Hunter® PGP® cans – Simply unscrew the existing riser from the PGP® can and replace with the RPS® 75 riser.
  • Top Adjustment – No training necessary – the RPS® 75 has the same adjustment procedure as the Hunter® PGP®.
  • Full and Part Circle Rotation – Provides a full range of adjustment from 40° to 360°.
  • Non-flushing Wiper Seal – Reduces leaks caused by debris trapped under seal.
  • 3/4" (1,9 cm) Inlet – Replaces all standard rotors.
  • Ideal for Low Flow Applications.
  • Universal Adjustment Tool – Compatible with existing Hunter® products.
  • Rubber Cover – Seals out dirt and increases durability.
  • Wide Selection of Nozzles – Including standard and low angle, provides flexibility in system design.
  • Five Year Limited Warranty

Good replacement
Was recommended by the local irrigation supply house. He said this is made by the person who holds the patent of the Hunter PGP rotors and the seal does not leak as much. Direct replacement for the Hunter rotor. Time will tell but is working fine

K-Rain RPS 75 Rotor 4" Review
I have had 22 of these sprinklers, spread out over 3 circuits, in service since 2012. I have only had 6 of them wear out or otherwise fail in those 7 years. Very satisfied with the life I get out of them and the coverage they provide.
My only complaint is that the tool that was included with my latest purchase of replacement units does not look like it will work with these sprinklers. Please see the attached photo. The nylon bodied tool is what was supplied with these type of sprinklers originally. The flat metal tool is what you sent me recently. It looks like it might actually do harm to these sprinklers.

Right produce at the right price
I was pleased with your sprinkler selection and pricing. You had the right item for me, the price per item was very affordable, and your shipping charge is reasonable. Overall, you offer a MUCH better deal than what the retail stores offer.

K-Rain was recommended to me. The 11003 seemed a bit big for my small front yard. This seemed like the right sprinkler for the job.

the top of the sprinkler head has broken off. How do I change out the sprinkler head?
A shopper on May 27, 2012
BEST ANSWER: You'll probably need to remove enough dirt from around the sprinkler head (be sure to save the dirt and grass you remove so you can put it back when you're done) to allow you to get a good grip on the can (plastic outer housing). If you can unscrew the rotor from the can, do so and just screw in a new rotor. If you can't unscrew the rotor, you'll have to unscrew the whole can. Be careful cause if the dirt is somewhat loose, when you remove the can, the dirt might start falling into the hole where the can once was. Not a big problem but you'll need to remove all of the dirt that falls into the hole in order to get to the water outlet to screw in the new sprinkler head. And be sure to remove any dirt that might get into the water outlet opening too. If you don't, it can potentially clog your new sprinkler head. The whole process including replacing the dirt and grass shouldn't take more than 15-30 minutes. Good luck.
I would like to know if the K-Rain RPS75 rotary sprinkler is only the internal part of the sprinkler. I have Hunter PGP sprinklers and would like to replace the internal rotary part without replacing the can also? Thank
George R on Mar 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I think so. I have both. I cannot confirm 100% The k-rain are good valves for dirty water. Good price too. There are several pgp compatible valves out there. The k rain are a good choice and my go to valves now.
Will this rotor mix with older nelson 6000 rotors, Is it interchangeable?
Roger R on Jul 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I don't know the answer to that question. I have a two year old system and ordered the K-Rain sprinklers just to have on hand for future use when mine start to wear out. So far I haven't had any fail or wear out. If it were me, I'd go directly to the K-Rain website to look for the Nelson interchangeability answer and if its not there ask the K-Rain folks directly.
Is there a 360 degree rotation in this model?
Jay A on Apr 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes there is. Adjustment instructions copied from the manual....
Insert the (A) end of the Key into the arc set adjustment slot (M). While holding the nozzle turret (I) at the right start, turn the Key clockwise. Each full 360° turn of the Key will increase the arc 90°. Adjust to any arc between 40° and 360°. The Key will stop turning, or there will be ratcheting noise, when the maximum arc of 360° has been reached.
What is this exactly?
A shopper on Jan 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's a pop up sprinkler head- when connected to your pipe it's spray within an adjustable parc.
How do I determine I have the right K Rain RPS for replacement?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is only one RPS model to choose. These are also a near clone of the Hunter PGP. Both use the same tool for adjustment. Just be sure to use the same size nozzle as the one in the head that you're replacing.
Does the RPS 75 rotate 360 degrees without reversing itself half way around?
Larry L on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The rps75 can be adjusted at the full right fixed position to any arc between 40 to 360 degrees by using the adjustment tool each full clockwise rotation increases the arc 90 degrees
How do I adjust the flow and direction?
Alan M on Aug 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The flow is controlled by the size of the changeable nozzles you select for each can. Assuming you have enough overall flow and pressure from the pump you can select how much water comes out by changing the size of the nozzle. You may even want to control the flow by how big an arc you're watering. You can adjust the arc at the nozzle simply by turning a screw on top of the can. So lets say your watering a 180 degree arc and you've selected the biggest nozzle If you then get to a corner and only need to water 90 degrees then to get the same amount of water in both areas you would need to go with a nozzle only half as big as the 180 arc. Simply pop the old nozzle out and put a smaller one in. Each rotor comes with a complete assortment of nozzles.
Is there a difference between the rps75 and the rps75i?

Where do I find the model number for the Krain RPS?
Jean M on Oct 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you’re looking for “RPS75” on the unit, there is no “75” number anywhere. But there is a replacement number on the bottom of the unit. It is “16008101” for the RPS75.
looking for 1/2' thread with 34, plus inch spray nozzle; any info?
A shopper on Aug 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This meets your radius requirement but has a 3/4” thread. You can always buy a 3/4”X1/2” reducer to put on the RPS75 so it will fit into a 1/2” thread.

Can this rotor be used to replace the rotors in the Signature 6000 Pro 4 inch Pop-Up Rotor?
Bob B on Sep 6, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I used these replacement sprinkler rotors to replace rain bird rotor sprinklers. As long as the size of the water supply fitting you are attaching it to is the same size of the K-Rain it should work just fine. Really like the user friendly adjustable rotors built into the K-Rain. Now I do not have to pay my sprinkler guy to install or adjust sprinkler rotors saving me from $75 to $100 each time I replace a Rain Bird rotor.
