Agrifim CAP-POP-5 - Pop-up Sprinkler Caps (Bag of 5)

Agrifim Pop-up Sprinkler Caps is Agrifim's solution to capping off a spray head. Water is rapidly becoming our most precious resource and this product provides a simple solution to eliminate water wasting spray heads

.

The two piece design works with all popular spray head designs. It can be used when converting spray head zones to drip irrigation, also to cap off spray heads that are no longer necessary after plantings become established. The Universal Cap Off is yet another way Agrifim is leading the way to efficient irrigation.

These worked well on some older Rainbird 1800’s as well as some older Orbit pop up heads. Very easy to use, unscrew the cover, take out the internal pop up mechanism, screw the top an bottom of the cap together and you are finished. For this to work well, the seal part of the pop up mechanism needs to be clean and intact.

works best
Truly superior product. Works so much better than rainbird cap. No elastic rubber band/washer to misalign or tear or crumble away. Great idea and works well.

CAP-POP quick solution for eliminating sprinkler head
The "CAP-POPs" worked very well for capping off the Rain Bird 1800 pop up sprinklers. I converted to the Hunter rotor style sprinkler heads and needed to cap about 20 Rain Bird heads. Locating and cleaning around the sprinklers took more time than the install of the "CAP-POPs". I had a few Rain Bird "Sure Pop" sprinklers which leaked badly so I would not recommend "CAP-POPs" on the "Sure Pops" (would not tighten down far enough to make a good seal).

Great way to cap a sprinkler
So much easier than digging up the entire sprinkler. The procedure also gives you the option of using the nozzle again in the future. Great product.

I was looking for a way to temporary cap some of the sprinklers, while Hunter has caps and shut-off nozzles, those were not available at SW. This product was recommended by a representative. Hopefully it will work.

Will your product work on Hunter Pro Spray sprinkler heads?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: don't know yet, I ordered the wrong cap. I capped off a sprinkler down about 8 inches. Unscrewed the body
and closed it off.
Do these work on Toro sprinklers?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I used them on the Toro 570 and they worked fine. Not as easy as rainbird but they work. Hold the body in one hand and remove the cap, along with the nozzle, riser and spring. Unscrew the nozzle from the riser and drop it out so all you have is the cap. The Agrifim is in two parts flat goes on top of the Toro cap and the smaller piece screws into the top from the bottom, make sure its tight, put the Toro cap back on and your good to go.
Will it work on toro sprinkler pop up head?
A shopper on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely! I used them on the 570 series with no problem!
Will these caps work with Toro sprinkler heads?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know. I use them on a Hunter installation and they perform as advertised.
I am trying to pin point a zone line leak. Can this simply screw on the stem in place of the nozzle? (hunter pop up sprays)
A shopper on May 18, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You have to remove the sprinkler nozzle guts from the the sprinkler housing, which means that you unscrew the pop-up cap, remove the riser unit and spring from the unit, unscrew the nozzle from the riser, then take the housing pop-up cap ring and install the NDS cap. There are actually two pieces to the cap which the picture doesn't really show. In simplest terms it's like a nut and bolt and the cap to the sprinkler housing becomes the washer. After installing the NDS cap, you screw the cap of the sprinkler unit back on the body/housing. This only works on sprinkler nozzle units. I only use these when I want to shut off a particular sprinkler nozzle in a zone. Not sure how these would help pin point a zone leak, it only shuts off any water coming out of that sprinkler unit. If you are planning to use the sprinkler again, you have to reinstall the guts (spring and riser unit and the nozzle. Think it would be easier to use the Valvette Systems Sprinkler Head Flushing Tool SKU: FX100. This unit can be screwed on the riser after you take off the nozzle. Great for flushing zones, heads, or just being able to stop the flow of water from that head.
