Just what I needed
I needed to make some adjustments to a zone in my yard, these allowed me to do that.

Cap off pop-ups
I use this strictly in retrofit drip systems. Homeowners are not real big on capping off and burying risers that are not needed. This helps ease them into losing their spray heads when we do a conversion. Just don't forget the o ring or they leak.

This cap is okay for temporarily shutting off a sprinkler head, but they are difficult to prevent from leaking. The very small green o-ring in these pops out of place easily and when this happens, it prevents a good seal between the cap and the body. Even if the o-ring stays in place, some of mine still leaked. The product is inexpensive and fine for a quick fix temporarily, but I would not use them with intentions of them being a permanent fix.

Capping of existing Rainbird UNI Spray sprinkler faucets as I dont need them due to conversion of one of the heads to a DRIP irrigation system. Watchout for the correct model. I had ordered 1800CAPS initially from amazon which is too big and did not fit. So found out the correct one for my sprinkler is 1800XC model. Call Rainbird if not sure.

Does this cap replace the sprinkler head or the cap on the body?
A shopper on May 20, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It becomes a cap on the body. If you mow off a sprinkler head or break it in some other manner, you can screw the sprinkler head out and screw this onto the body so you can make the head water tight and keep irrigating till you get it replaced. I just keep one around for emergencies.
does Rainbird make smaller caps than the Rain Bird Xeri-Cap | XC-1800? These are way too big?
LoranC on Dec 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: What are you trying to cap? These are for Rainbird sprinkler bodies. You have to unscrew the whole top, including wiper seal and rim, not just the nozzle. Maybe that is the problem?
Will this cap fit the RD1800 heads?
