Hard to find, but worth it
These little guys are hard to find, but are invaluable to own. I install gardens for a living and use these to raise existing pop up heads as the foliage grows higher than the pop up can clear. One tip is to keep the filter on the pop up riser and add the nozzle to the extension, otherwise the nozzle will not fit on the extension. Also, in my experience, these fit on Hunter pop ups better than the Hunter extensions. When I use the Hunter extensions, I have to use pliers to get the nozzle to thread onto the extension. HTH

They work Great
Great to get the same coverage back over bushes after they grow. Easy to install. Wish they came in 12" sections too.

I needed to raise the head so it would clear some flowers that were blocking the sprinkler head. Be careful near these raised heads because it is easy to bump them causing the extensions to come loose and divert all of the water in the county to come out the head!!! The threads on the extension would work better if they went up the extension further.

will this toro extension work on a Rain Bird spray system?
elwin M on Mar 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I ordered quite a few of these & they are made of very good quality hard plastic. Unfortunately, I used them on Hunter sprinkler heads & the threads weren't too compatible with the threads on my Hunter heads. I had to really force them on with a lot of force & they don't stay on very well because of this. If you just lightly brush up against them, they fall off. So be sure you use these on Toro heads only. I'm not sure about the threads on other brands, but I would not get these if you have Hunter heads. The service with Sprinkler Warehouse was excellent. I just made a bad choice.
how can I extend sprinkler head up 8"? I have toro 570 series.
A shopper on Oct 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It depends on where is the sprinkler. I have the 570 on my lawns and garden beds. I added the Toro 570 6-inch spray head extension because my junipers grew above the original 6-inches pop up length. If you want to go higher you can use two extensions which works. Good luck.
Will this work with rain bird sprays?

does the sprinkler extension have female threads at the bottom to screw on to the male top threads ?
A shopper on Dec 19, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The 570-6x - Toro 570 6" Pop Up Extension sprinkler head extension has male threads at the bottom that screw into a TORO 570 head, exactly where the nozzle threads in. It has female threads at the top for the nozzle to screw into. To install, pull the pop-up up from the 570 head, hold it so that it does not go back in, remove the nozzle and strainer, install the extension where the nozzle screwed into, release the pop-up, then install the nozzle in the extension. Just like the nozzles, do not over tighten the extension, and do not over tighten the nozzle in the extension. After you install the extension, you have to adjust the direction just like a regular pop-up, have the water running, push down on the pop-up, and turn it clockwise until it points in the direction required. It is a TORO product, and works exactly like a piece of pipe should.
do they make a head extension that is only an inch?
Jeff C on Jul 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No they don't. If this is the case, you my want to dig the sprinkler out to adjust its height. 1 inch is not a lot
After installing the extension, the sprayer does not get water. What am I doing wrong?
Mark S on Sep 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Check the flow control screw on top of the nozzle. Turn it counterclockwise to open.
will this work with the toro greenkeeper 212 to replace a pop up that screws on?
wayne l on Jul 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not familiar with a Toro 212 spray head. The 212 greens keeper is a controller that operates a series of pop-ups or rotors. I believe this extender will work with any standard Toro pop-up nozzle and takes about 1 minute to complete. It will not work with a rotor spray.
