Faster and easier on your hands!
Great tool for installing barb fittings. Just remember that when it's cool, to stretch the tube a little, rotate the tool, then stretch a little more. Repeat this to avoid causing the tube to over stretch in one area.

After you flare the pipe, does the expanded flare stay that way so you can later attach or does it shrink back. The question is can you preflare the pipe and leave it to use later?
lou s on Jan 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The flaring tool works great. The poly pipe flares out when the tool is used and the temperature determines how easily the pipe with flare. I you flare the pipe and don't insert a fitting, the pipe will shrink back to it's original diameter. When it is cold, flaring poly pipe runs the risk of splitting the walls, so it is best to flare when the temperature is above 70 degrees. Use liquid soap as a joint lubricant, that way you won't have to flare the pipe too much over it's original size.
My husband does landscape construction and he is forever repairing sprinkler systems. I want to get him one of these tools but I don't know what size to get. What do you suggest?
Thank you

BEST ANSWER: If the pipe is 1 inch this is a very handy tool. Previously i would fight to get the fitting in or would use a torch and many times burn the pipe to soften it so the inserts could be fully engaged. Very good tool
The description mentions using clamps. Are these special clamps and do they come with the EZ-Flare?
