do you hook this on to the connection where you attach the hose?

BEST ANSWER: It's best to put it on another connection so you can monitor the pressure while the sprinklers are running. This is called residual pressure as opposed to static pressure which is what you have when nothing is running. By monitoring residual you can see if your pressure regulator (if you have one) is functioning properly. Get an a hose adapter for your utility sink and put it there or any other outside hose bib.
Is there a temperature range for these gauge? I'm using it for our well house so it's outside in a pump house year round.

BEST ANSWER: I am not sure about this exact manufacture "Aqualine" but WIKA and other brands I have used for years and I know that WIKA is good to -60F. I have owened this Aqualine pressure gauge and I leave it outside in my unheated shop over the winter months here in Wenatchee WA (our average low in January is 25 deg. F.) and I have not experienced any problems related to cold temperature or anything else. I hope this helps.
