Why the o ring on one side. Trying to figure out if I put this between the manifold and the valve which side goes to the valve....the o ring side or the non or ring side? ...thanks

BEST ANSWER: One side of the fitting is a NPT thread and the other is a straight pipe thread. The o-ring goes on the straight thread side and is conected to the swivel nut on the manifold. It is used to seal the faces of the connection because without a taper, the threads will not create a leak proof seal.

BEST ANSWER: Not sure if its right, but i screwed the O ring side on the discharge side of the vavle. I was wondering same thing.
