Professional Sprinkler Wire and Valve Locator for Commercial Contractors

The Pro700 Underground Sprinkler Wire and Valve Locator is perfect for irrigation contractors and maintenance personnel. Incorporating a powerful transmitter and sensitive receiver, the Pro700 tracks irrigation wires, finds missing valves and detects damage or cuts to vulnerable underground cabling.  The Pro700 has a proven track record of 10 years of finding these problems.  The Pro700 was the first sprinkler wire and valve locator to use a longer wand for normal height folks, add a speaker, and put in a lot of the features that we take for granted today.

The Pro700 model builds on the success of the original Pro600 wire and valve locator model. Our Pro700 includes an extra-long metal wand for easy tracking, the option of using an external speaker instead of a headset when listening for a signal and D batteries for power.

Wire and Valve Location Simplified

The Pro700 model simplifies wire and valve location by transmitting an easy-to-follow beeping signal tracked by the extended receiver. Simply connect the transmitter to ground and to the underground wire to be tracked, and then turn it on. Follow the beeps with the receiver using the visual meter, external speaker or a headset. It's really that simple!  If you don't believe us, check out our YouTube channel ArmadaTech, chocked full of over 30 How to videos that explain various testing issues, including how easy a Pro700 is to operate.

It worked
It took no time to find the missing valves. Hooked the common to the black and the red to the valve wire and was able to locate two hidden valve boxes. Making repairs now.

Would you buy the Pro700 or the Pro800?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2012
BEST ANSWER: what type of work are you using it for?
Can rechargable batteries be used in place of alakali batteries?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I don't see how that would affect performance if they are kept fully charged. I've had great service from my PRO-700. Haven't used rechargeables but that typically doesn't make a difference.
will it follow a wire on a water line,or a copper water line?
phil s on Dec 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I perform my own repairs (at 63) and have 27 zones. The best helper tool I have ever purchased. This locator is a very simple learn and anyone can follow the instruction for successful locating.
I have not attempted a copper pipe locate. But just thinking of the "ground" connection and the bare copper would seem to cancel or blend the single. But, I will try this to locate my copper line to the street.
A must have if doing underground work period, locate telephone, electrical lines before digging. Thank you. Al
is it worth what it costs?
A shopper on Aug 17, 2011
BEST ANSWER: I think so. It proved invaluable to me on a recent job where I had to locate 54 valves on a large irrigation system for 47 acres of soccer fields. It takes a bit of working with it using the sensitivity adjustment on the locator wand unit to actually locate the valve down to a small spot just above the solenoid coil itself. After a few days of working with it and some experimentation, I learned to follow the wires right to the valve location very quickly. I would buy the unit again. There may be cheaper units out there that work equally well but, I don't know that to be true. I researched several similar units and felt this one to be a good value for the advertised functionality. I am satisfied with the unit's performance and quality of construction.
Would this be good for locating culverts under roadways? will it also detect plastic valves?
Martin T on Oct 31, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Martin - it will detect the location of a valve based upon the wire that connects the valve to the control panel. You fire up the wire at the control panel with the tracer kit and trace that wire to the valve. If the valve is not attached to a wire for whatever reason then, no, it will not detect a plastic valve. As far as culverts under roadways, speaking as to the depth of detection, In my experience it will detect said wires pretty deep...deep enough for usual circumstances, but not too much farther out than 75 yards or 2' deep. Hope this helps.
What is the best wire and valve locator for both residential and commercial use? Something that is durable and well made is what I am looking for. Any advice would be appreciated
A shopper on Aug 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have purchased the PRO-700 last winter and I do both residential and commercial properties. I have used it to locate breaks, valves and to mark mainlines on large commercial construction projects so they don't damage my wire. It is worth every penny and I am kicking myself for not purchasing one sooner.
What if you have a controller or timer inside and it is not possible to ground?
Ronald P on Jun 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Run a wire out a window or door to the ground. If that is not possible try finding a pit outside and tracing the common wire. Not as easy because it will take you to all the pits not just one. Make sure all the commons are unhooked in the timer. Good luck!
