easiest way to get a trench
I use this to install 3/4-1" pvc pipe or irrigation wire or electrical wire that does not need to be that deep. It can probably get your pipe about 10-12" underground, which is plenty, I cant imagine how to improve on it, other than having longer ones for deeper installation and wider ones for easier installations and possibly a little sharper for cutting roots, but you need to be a profesional to feel whether you are cutting something important or just a root.

BEST ANSWER: this is the only size that i have seen, but it works incredibly to make a straight underground trench.
How much does this weigh?
Brad S on Mar 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would say that it weighs around 10 lbs. I don't have anything that can weigh this low, but it is definitely hefty. Quite a bit heavier than a shovel.
Does it have a die-electric handle in case I hit a power line?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't. I would just call 811 and map out the electric lines to avoid hitting them. That's what I do and it's free!
