The link below will have a picture at the bottom of the page of how the solenoid is wired up
I checked mine with a ohm meter, It was only slightly different from the new one but obviously bad. Also i hooked the supposedly bad one directly to the power source ....did not vibrate or click like the new one did. Hope this helps.
I have a Rainbird DV 100 irrigation control valve which does not shut off properly, so that I have continuous leakage from one bank of sprinklers. There is no water leakage from the valve body, around the joint of the body and the cover, or at the solenoid entry into the cover. I have had the valve apart, no foreign bodies present, the diaphragm and spring appear to be in good condition. I removed and inspected the solenoid valve, again no visible problems, no blocked filter. I measured the coil resistance using a digital multimeter, it was 55.6 ohms. Applying 24 volts to the coil produced an audible "click". After reassembly the valve still does not shut off. I'm assuming that my only course of action is to replace the solenoid, but I would appreciate a knowledgeable second opinion. Thank you.
