Gets the lawn watered!
I hope they never stop making the Rain Bird 2045. I've been using these for 25 years. Gets my lawn thoroughly watered in no time. I have 14 zones, so this is important.

The skinny little 'water saver' heads everyone wants you to use might save you water because it doesn't put out any water and little hits the ground, only putting a nice mist in the air and, I have to run 3 times as long which costs me electric. Saving nothing!

Use the Maxipaw Rain Bird 2045. Reliable, easy to adjust and gets your lawn watered.

Heavy duty impact
bought 8 of these to start. They work awesome. Easy to adjust. There a bit longer than other sprinklers, but I had adjustable risers on the old ones, so no problem

impact lawn sprinklers
I thought they would correct flaws that those from box stores had--hanging up on the right or return side of the range. But they were the same. Meanwhile, older units on the system continue to work like they should. Made in China, I guess. Probably will eventually go to another brand or sprinkler type.

Do I install water line from side or bottom?
JACKIE N on Apr 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Mine are installed at the bottom. Using a 90 degree connector in the bottom; the 90 is connected to a "swing tube" (rubber tubing approximately 1 to 1 1/2 ft in length); swing tube is connected to the water line.
RE: Rain Bird 2045 Closed-Case Impact Rotor: I installed 4 of these and 3 of them won't reverse. I bought a nozzle kit and installed the smallest nozzle (red, I think). Somewhere in the remote recesses of my brain, I recall reading about moving the spring placement, possibly to compensate for the low flow, but I can not find this document. Is anybody familiar with this issue of low flow nozzle causing reversing problems? How critical is the level of the sprinkler? I have the level tool for the rotor sprinkler but I don't see one for the Impact sprinkler.
Bob B on Jun 19, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You recall correctly. The spring clip has the option of fitting into three grooves. I had the same issue and moved the two clips both down one groove. this should take care of the issue assuming you have sufficient overall water pressure. Holding the top open while making this adjustment is quite challenging. Not sure if there is a better method of holding it open than with one hand while attempting to move the spring clip with the other...and your foot.
