The Benefits of Brass

Champion’s sprinklers come in all shapes and sizes, but you’ll notice that many of them are made of brass. In irrigation, brass is considered the heavy-duty option compared to the more common plastic and PVC valves. This is because brass has excellent inherent strength. It can take a beating and withstand wide temperature swings much better than plastic. Brass also has a much higher pressure rating, making it significantly more resistant to bursting or cracking. While more expensive up front, Champion’s brass valves have a much longer service life than other valves.

Next, depending on whether your system is automatic or manual, you may need a valve with a solenoid or an actuator. After that, just find out what size valve will fit. How do you adjust a Champion anti-siphon irrigation valve?

For most Champion anti-siphon valves, you will be able to adjust its water pressure when you turn the flow control stem. You can turn it clockwise to decrease water flow or counterclockwise to increase it. If necessary, you can also turn the flow control stem clockwise until it is tight to stop the water’s flow entirely.
