What is funny pipe?

Funny pipe is a flexible polyethylene tubing used to connect sprinkler heads to the main irrigation lines. Sometimes called swing pipe, it allows for easy positioning of sprinkler heads, even in tight or irregular areas, without requiring precise trenching.

How is funny pipe different from PVC pipe?

Aside from the fact that the two types of pipe are made from entirely different material, they also have slightly different advantages. Funny pipe is much more flexible, making it easier to install around obstacles or uneven terrain. It also resists cracking and is less likely to be damaged by impacts. PVC is more rigid and is often used for main irrigation lines.

Do I need special tools to install funny pipe?

One of the benefits of funny pipes & fittings is that no special tools are required. Funny pipe is installed using barbed fittings that can be pushed into the pipe by hand. In some cases, a pair of pliers may help with tight connections, but otherwise, you won’t need to purchase any other equipment.
