Types of ½" PVC-Lock® Fittings

At Sprinkler Warehouse, we try to keep a good variety of 1/2" PVC-Lock® fittings for our customers to choose from. Below are a few of the most popular types of fittings available on our website:

  • Couplings: Join two 1/2" PVC pipe segments together in a straight line.

  • 90° Elbows: Make a perpendicular, 90-degree turn in the pipe run.

  • Tees: Split the main line into two branches, connecting three 1/2" pipe segments.

  • Adapters: These fittings have a PVC-Lock® connection on one end and a standard Female or Male Pipe Thread connection on the other.

1/2" PVC Lock Fitting FAQs

How do I install a ½" PVC-Lock® fitting?

PVC-Lock® fittings are known for their easy installation method. To install a ½" PPVC-Lock® fitting, start by cutting the pipe square and cleaning off the edges. After that, just push the pipe straight into the fitting until it locks into place. No primer, glue, or clamps are needed. For removal, use the manufacturer’s release tool to disconnect the pipe.

Do ½" PVC-Lock® fittings work with all PVC pipe brands?

½" PVC-Lock® fittings are designed to work with standard ½" Schedule 40 PVC pipe, which is widely available across most brands. As long as the pipe meets standard sizing and specifications, the fittings will create a strong seal. However, PVC-Lock® fittings are not compatible with flexible tubing, and damaged pipe may prevent a proper connection.

Can I bury PVC-Lock® fittings underground?

Yes, PVC-Lock® fittings can be buried underground. They’re designed to create a strong, watertight seal that holds up well in typical irrigation applications. However, make sure the pipe and fitting are installed tightly and free of any dirt. It’s also best to avoid placing them in high-traffic areas or where shifting soil could stress the connection.
