Adding a Weathermatic Pop-up Sprinkler Head

When you’re ready to add a sprinkler head to your Weathermatic spray body, start by turning off the irrigation zone. Unscrew the old spray body from the 1/2-inch threaded riser or fitting and flush the line briefly to clear dirt. Wrap male threads with Teflon tape, then screw the Weathermatic pop-up spray body on by hand. Make sure to set the body so the cap sits level with the finished soil/turf. Next, you can install the spray nozzle, start the zone, pull up the stem, and adjust arc/radius for even coverage.

Weathermatic Sprinkler Head FAQs

How far do Weathermatic sprinkler bodies spray?

These Weathermatic spray bodies do not include a nozzle, so they do not have a fixed spray distance. Once you install a compatible spray nozzle, the spray radius will depend on that nozzle model, arc pattern, and operating pressure.

What is the difference between MAX4, MAX6, and MAX12 spray bodies?

The main difference between these products is pop-up height. MAX4 pops up 4 inches, MAX6 pops up 6 inches, and MAX12 pops up 12 inches. Otherwise, all three products have the same features and are compatible with standard female-thread spray nozzles.

What nozzles fit Weathermatic spray bodies?

Weathermatic spray bodies are compatible with most standard female-thread spray nozzles. Many of Weathermatic’s own nozzles, including Weathermatic B Series brass nozzles, are compatible with MAX spray bodies.
