The Benefits of Micro-Sprayers
Some of the main benefits of micro-spray irrigation systems are their water efficiency and customizability. Micro-sprayers apply water more efficiently than traditional irrigation systems by targeting specific areas with a fine mist or small spray, reducing water waste due to runoff or evaporation. This is further realized by Micro-sprayers that come in various spray patterns. You can install sprinklers with full-circle, half-circle, or even quarter-circle sprays, allowing you to customize coverage for different plants or garden layouts. Even DIY gardeners can enjoy the benefits of micro spray emitters as they’re quite easy to install. The system can also be adjusted or expanded with little effort.
Micro & Mini Sprayers FAQs
How many micro sprayers should I install?
Depending on the size of your intended watering area, you may need to install five, ten, or even more sprayers at once. Check the spray radius of your micro-spray emitters (usually 3 feet or more) and install them at a distance where they provide overlapping coverage.
What else do I need to install a micro spray irrigation system?
You’ll need to establish a water supply line for the sprayers by laying tubing along your planned route in the garden and securing it with stakes as needed. In addition to your tubing, you may want to install a backflow preventer, a pressure regulator, or a timer to help automate the system.
How can I properly maintain my sprayers?
Regularly check for clogged sprayers and replace or clean them as needed. You can also flush the tubing at once a season to clear debris. If you live in a region with freezing temperatures, drain and store the system during winter to prevent damage.
