I turn the valve on and water runs through to the lawn. I turn the valve off and water stops flowing. That solves my problem and I am very pleased. I recommend this valve.

Great that this fine product has not changed over the years.
Great that this fine product has not changed over the years. My valve manifold system was built with small clearances and my only repair/replace option is to fit the valve assembly into the existing base housing.

Why did you choose this?
SprinklerWarehouse.com Store
I chose this because I needed a couple spare diaphrams and the SprinklerWarehouse website did not show any spare parts availability... So I decided just to buy an extra valve and scavenge it for parts when needed.

do you supply just the small spring in the solenoid 250 series valve ?
A shopper on Feb 20, 2017
how do I turn it off?
J G on May 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There is a little knob on the top. Turn it clock wise to shut the water flow off. (Manual Operation) The valve will still operate from the electric solenoid activated by your sprinkler control unit.

Will this valve stay closed against 60lbs of pump pressure or will it bleed through?
Steve V on Aug 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will stay closed; I have 65-70 lbs incoming water pressure and it stays closed.
I did have a problem in the past with the valve body cracking but that was resolved by installing a water shock in line.
how do you turn it on manually?
A shopper on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This electric valve is designed to be hooked up to a timer (time clock) that puts out 24vac. All of these time clocks would have a MANUAL OFF/ON ability. If you are trying to use it without a time clock, then you can activate the valve by conecting the two wires to a 24vac source. Try a small transformer like a doorbell or a thermostat transformer, for example, but be sure that it's output is 24vac + or - about 5%. That should work. The voltage must be applied the entire time you want the valve open.
Can I buy just the top and the selinod ?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Through a professional supply house, you can buy the selinod. You can also buy replacement gaskets and a diaphragm. The supply house, I have dealt with does not sell the top. I have in the past, bought a complete valve; replaced the interior and top of the one in operation and saved the base in case it is needed at a later time.
is this a normal open valve?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Don't know what you mean by open. This valve is adjustable to control the flow of water thru it. It can also cut off flow from the valve. Other valves which I presume you mean as open aren't adjustable.
For the Toro 250-06-04 1 in. FPT Electric Valve with Flow Control, can I just get the replacement solenoid - lighting blew out two of my solenoids?
Ken M on Jul 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can but if valves are over ten years old, gut it with new valve .
valve will not turn on. Replaced solenoid, still wont work. Any ideas?
Donnie V on May 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Have you checked the electrical connections in the controller to make sure everything is as it should be?
You may need to check the continuity of the underground wiring as well.

If the valve itself is the problem. You may need to buy an identical valve and remove the top of the valve (held in place with several screws) and replace it with the new one. I used this approach to deal with a stuck valve in my system. The bottom of the valve is essentially just a water channel. This method avoids have to cut and rebuild the plumbing.
Does this Toro 250-06-04 valve include the solenoid or do I have to buy it separately?
A shopper on Jul 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It comes with the valve assembly.
hold pressure dropping. recently replaced all valves but appears a little water making it thru to a zone causing drop. I can see the top of sprinkler valve wet. also at times zone stays open while timer goes to next zone. advice? was thinking of replacing solenoids but are fairly new @ 1 yr when I last bought from you. opened and inspected diaphragm, all good....
mike l on Oct 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would go ahead and replace it, not all of the valves are in great quality.
I have a toro 240-06-04, 1" valve. I'd like to replace the insides. Are there replacement parts? An equivalent 250 series that I could steel parts from?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure about your 240 series but Per Toro Tech rep, the 250-06-04 in interchangeable with the 230-06-04. So in order to use existing valve of 230-06-04 (bottom portion) it’s OK to use the 250-06-04 top portion on the 230-06-04 bottom portion. The 230-06-04 diaphragm part # is 35-3503 which is impossible to find. He also said the 260-06-04 will work as well.
Which side is the water in side? The side with the diaphragm valve?
John G on Aug 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The valve has an arrow cast into the plastic showing water flow direction. I believe it is on the bottom but check the inlet/outlet if you can't find it on the bottom.
I need (3) Bleed cap for a 250 06 04. The lost cap has a SS pin attached to the cap. I would guess it's about 4" long.
Can I buy just this part?
David B on Apr 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Have not seen this part for sale. Typically one can purchase replacement items that wear such as: o-rings, diaphragms and solenoids. Sorry I'm no help.
I need the valve as well as a spare solenoid for the same valve. Need Part Number?
A shopper on Feb 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: the toro 250-06-04 i inch valve we bought was installed and has been
working since purchasing. Works great. ed
okay I have 5 zones, I can only find 2 valves at the moment. This system has not been ran for many years. It actually has an old push button dial controller. when I cut the system on everything seemed to work fine. A couple of days later, zone one came on, but two and three did run there time but did not have enough water pressure to pop up the sprinkler heads. Now they will not run without the manual bleed turned open. Changed valved to what I think is #1 zone valve, and still the same. We are only running zones 1,3,5. I also checked the output voltage and all was around 25.4. What to do next????
Pamela S on Jun 28, 2016
My name is Tim. I had a similar problem as you. I have six zones but couldn't locate 2. I had to use a location tool whereby I attached a sender to one zone at a time at the irrigation box (it was therefore sending a signal out on a wire) and I used a reception wand to walk my yard hoping to hear a beep from the wire in the ground at the controller. Yes, this was a long process over an hour and a half but I finally found the other two controllers and had to use a metal poking stick to hit down into the ground to the top of the plastic cover. AFTER I located the controllers, I needed to replace one of the values and all was working. I got the irrigation location kit as a rental tool from my local Home Depot for $48 for 4 hours. I hope this helped you.
