How to Replace a PRO-C Front Panel
Note: The Pro-C controller is truly modular in design. This means that most components of the controller can be removed and replaced if needed. For the newer style Pro-C (blue panel and buttons) the part number for the front panel is 821501. The part number for the older style Pro-C controllers (green buttons) is 526200.
- To remove the Pro-C's front panel, start by removing all power from the controller. Unplugging the transformer or shutting off the circuit breaker will be necessary to do this properly.
- Open the front panel similar to how the controllers door opens, this should expose the battery compartment on the back of the front panel.
- Locate the gray ribbon cable in the upper right corner on the back of the front panel.
- Disconnect the ribbon cable from the back of the front panel by carefully pulling the plastic cable connector off the back of the front panel.
- Locate the Hinge Release switch below the ribbon cable connector on the back of the control panel. Push down on the white tab, the hinge pins will retract and allow the front panel to come free from the cabinet.
- After the panel is removed you can reverse this process to install the new face panel.

Replacement for Hunter 526200 PRO-C
I purchased this as a replacement for my front panel which would intermittently change the watering times to hours. The replacement was just as described and at a great price from SprinklerWarehouse. It arrived quickly and was brand new; it was easy to replace and works great.

I have a pro C controller and it starts on time but only stays on for 8 min. per station. The stations are set for 15 to 20 min. watering times. When I use the remote the times are correct. I tried a reset and this did not help either. prior to this the unit showed "off" so I bypassed the rain sensor and the unit started working, but the times were still not right. Does this sound like I need to replace the panel?
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure what "reset" you did. There is a hard reset that might help. Call Hunter and they will give you the steps. (They are very helpful.) Otherwise, it is time for a new panel. I have had several die for no apparent reason.

How many zones on this model?
BEST ANSWER: There are seven zones. Make sure to properly ground your board - my initial unit that was installed was not and a couple of lighting storms later. No good. Enjoy!

Is this face pack compatible with all Hunter Pro-C controllers?
Secondly, does it matter if you have an internal or plug in transformer in the controller?
Secondly, does it matter if you have an internal or plug in transformer in the controller?
BEST ANSWER: I'm not an expert but I'd ration that if the plug unit comports with the receptacle (male plugs into female) then you are good. The control unit is self contained in that the wall mount is just a place to hang it and get power. If it plugs in it runs. As for transformer, it should not matter if it's plug in or internal. Hope this helps.....

Do you sell an irrigation controller that is powered by 230 volts?
The existing Pro-C does not display the stations [zones]. Will replacing the front panel resolve this problem?
BEST ANSWER: My front panel would only display little bits and pieces of information (nothing you could read) so I replaced it and everything was fine. If you have clear indicators of some things, but nothing for the zones, I might look to another problem. If the display can show clear information about, let's say, the time and date, and the zone information is displayed in the same part of the screen, then the screen itself should be working OK. There is a printed circuit board in the front panel, so I would guess that there is some additional logic on it (besides the little display) so it could be the panel, but I would check all the wires first before buying a new one. BTW: It is easy to install.

My hunter xc (very old) does not display I changed the battery reset and still no display. I the Pro-C 52620 good for 6 stations?
BEST ANSWER: Continuing this response, this part shown here is not the full controller, it is only the front panel for the rest of the Pro-C controller which sometimes dies. If you want to replace an entire controller with a 6 station sprinkler controller system you should search this site for the Hunter-Sprinkler-Irrigation-Controller-p/pcc600, which is a fixed 6 station control panel. The Hunter Pro-C can be expanded etc. but the fixed unit should be fine for you and it looks like its basically the Hunter Pro-C system. You may also want to search Hunter's website first to be sure you've spec'd out the right system for your needs, then come here to find it to buy at competitive prices.

Can zones differ in watering times?
BEST ANSWER: If you mean can each zone be set for a specific number of minutes to run, then the answer is yes.. Each zone can be set to a specific number of minutes/hours to run. If, on the other hand you are inquiring as to whether each zone can "start" at a different time, it would depend on how many zones you wanted to set for specific start times. I believe you would be limited to 3 programs, A, B or C and you could set specific zones to start at specific times, with other zones to follow sequentially. If you so choose, you could use one of the programs to set one zone to run at a specific time and make that the only zone running on that program. Hope this helps.

Is it a new unit?
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It's a new front panel. The old front panel detaches easily and quickly with no tools and this will replace the front panel. It does not replace the back panel which is where all the wire connections are made. Swaps out in seconds

I need the controller board that connects to the face plate. The ribbon cable is attached to this board. Do u have this part?
BEST ANSWER: The ribbon cable remains on the old box. Be sure to remove it very carefully! That's the only tricky part of the whole process. I was so excited to be able to replace this myself! Good Luck! Hunter has awesome utube videos showing how to do just about everything. It's so liberating!

The screen on my Hunter Pro-C is blank. The unit is hardwired and has power going to it. I also have a battery backup in case the power goes out. Does this sound like I need to replace the panel?
BEST ANSWER: I have had this same controller in my system since 2001. I first replaced it in about 2007 and did it again this year. If you have power to the unit then replacing the panel (a simple task) is a cheaper alternate then bringing in a service person. I am in FL and I think the heat of the sun on the panel and the humidity over time just wears the unit out.

BEST ANSWER: The front panel doesn’t determine how many stations you have. The inside module do that. The front panel can run the minimum number of 4 stations to the maximum number of 12.

System ran during the early morning while dial was set to "system off". Days to run was set to that day, but again controller set to system off. Controller is a Hunter Pro-C, installed in 2006. How do I fix?
BEST ANSWER: I replaced my 2007 Hunter Pro-C front panel this past June. I had errors like adding time to cycles, adding delays to cycles, etc. I reset numerous times to no avail. Hunter technician advised replacing front panel. Very easy to replace front panel, cost was $37, all problems solved.

i have replaced Hunter Pro-C front panel to a Hunter 526200 Pro-C panel and i can only get it to 6 stations my old one had 12 stations do I have the right panel ?
BEST ANSWER: If you open up the guts of the panel, you should see four slots which accommodate those little controller units which have three stations apiece. They snap in from right to left. Normally you start from the bottom and add units as you need the capacity to operate more solenoid valves. Once you have all four slots filled you can run 12 valves....actually, it is possible to double up two solenoid wires per station, which is what I do, meaning that you can go as high as 24 solenoid wires per Hunter panel. The three-station controller units are generally sold separately from the main panel, so you might have to order however many you're short.

How to use the system ? Just got the system and can’t set it up on 7 stations?
BEST ANSWER: Assuming your controller is capable of at least 7 stations, sometimes when you put in a new panel it will need to have the power shutoff and then turn back on or do a reset on the rear of the panel. try then to program the controller. Hope this helps!

HOW DO I DELETE A DAY OF WATERING?
BEST ANSWER: Dave,
To delete a watering day, check to see that the correct program (A, B or C) is showing on the display, and, if not, push the oval PRG button to get to the right program. Turn the rotary dial from "RUN" to "SET DAYS TO WATER." You will see M[onday] flashing. Use the RIGHT ARROW to step to the day you need to cancel (displaying a rain-drop icon). Hit the "—" button, and the rain drop turns into a cancel icon. Just make sure the rain-drop icon appears only on the days you wish to water. Use the "PRG" button to check the other programs (A, B or C) to make sure you have no unintended rain drops, and use the right arrow and "—" button to cancel as needed. Return the rotary dial to the "RUN" position. That will put your changes into effect. I hope this helps! —Richard

what is the seasonal adjustment?
BEST ANSWER: Seasonal Adjust is used to make global run time changes without re-programming the entire controller. This feature is perfect for making small changes that are necessary as the weather changes. For instance, hotter times of the year may require a bit more water. Seasonal adjust can be increased so that the stations will run longer than the programmed time. Conversely, as Fall approaches, the seasonal adjust can be reduced to allow for short watering?durations.

ai understand this product will operate 6 zones?
BEST ANSWER: I have this controller currently running 1 zone. I did have it running 3 zones at one time. The enclosure box is where the zone controllers are installed. This control panel will see all 12 zones that can be installed. You should not have a problem as long as you install the expansion modules in the enclosure that you also need to buy. What is nice about this controller is that you can buy it separately from the enclosure. Protect it from lightning strikes as I have already replaced mine due to lightning.

BEST ANSWER: Hunter doesn't sell internal parts for this controller separately. Replace it . Shop around on the Internet.
You can fuss /wish all you want. But these are the facts.
However, if you are technically gifted -hey-what have you got to lose anyway?- break open the controller, find the switch controlled by the advance button. Likely it will be a small, single - pole- single - throw (SPST), momentary contact, PUSH-ON SWITCH. Find an appropriate supplier and buy an exact replacement. Unsolder the existing switch and solder in the new one. Seal the controller case back together. Done. Or, buy a new controller as I said earlier.

BEST ANSWER: There are two different models I have seen. At the bottom of the screen there is either a circle or a little faucet. If there is a line through the circle or faucet that is a no water day. In some cases like mine if the circle day is blank that means it's a water day. Hope this helps.

My 12 zone pro c stops at the 3rd station if I hold the forward arrow of a few seconds it will eventually go to the other 9 stations? Have you seen this before and is there any way to fix this? Thanks Dave
BEST ANSWER: I have a 6-zone Pro-C that cycles just fine, so it sounds as if your front panel is defective and needs to be replaced. If the unit is still under warranty, remive your front panel and have Hunter replace it. If it's out of warranty, purchase a replacement front panel, and recycle your existing front panel.
