Hunter MP-GAUGE MP Rotator Pressure Gauge

As water conservation becomes more and more of a concern, the MP Rotator product line will be looked to more and more for its ability to save water. Measuring system pressure at the sprinkler location is a great way to help get the point across of just how great the MP Rotator is at saving water. If for instance you know the system pressure is too low because of flow problems, the MP Rotator can be used in place of the spray nozzles and the pressure will increase, uniformity will be improved and water will be saved.

The MP Rotator Gauge has been added to the list of MP Rotator Accessories to help our customers be the water conserving experts. The gauge assembly consists of an adapter and our Hunter pressure gauge. It is a great tool for finding the operating pressure at a spray or MP Rotator sprinkler. Customers can use the MP Rotator Gauge to assess the pressure of an existing system during a system audit.

  • Hunter - MPGAUGE - Spray Head Pressure Gauge
  • Finds operating pressure at a spray head, helps water conservation
  • Can be used on all Hunter sprayc heads
  • Includes a gauge and MP adapter

Did not last
I only used it 3 or 4 times and it stuck on 4 psi and would not zero therefore unsure what the actual PSI is when pressure is applied and it does give me reading

Does not work on most popular sprinkler bodies
I bought this because it is threaded for female and male sprinkler bodies. I have Rain Bird and Toro sprinklers. The female end will not screw on to the Rain Bird body (it's too large). The male end will screw on to the Toro body, but the Toro nozzle won't screw on to the other side, making this completely useless unless you have Hunter bodies and nozzles (I'm assuming). I don't know if it will work, because Hunter nozzles have always worked on my Rain Bird bodies....

Need a pressure gauge to check actual pressure at the sprinkler head. Hopefully this will satisfy this purpose.

What should the pressure be at the nozzle attached to a PRS40?
I tested my sprinkler and the pressure read 65,yet I did not get the nominal radius that I expected. What could possibly be wrong?

What face size is this gauge and what is the pipe size on the gauge? Do you have a 2 1/2 gauge with a 1/4 ips in your stock? thank you, Bob Cowley Turf

Does this come with the MPADAPTER or is this item just the pressure gauge?

Hunter MP Rotator Pressure Gauge Adapter | PRESSURE-GAUGE-ADAPTER
BEST ANSWER: If you buy the gauge it comes with the adapter. Just like you see in the picture. It's great to be able to read system pressure at the sprinkler head while it's spraying in order to make adjustments.
will this work on other brand of sprinklers?
Ron P on Mar 5, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I can't say specifically (I use it on a Hunter system) but since the gauge screws on to the sprinkler head by removing the spray nozzle, attaching the gauge adaptor (the black Tee in the picture) to the sprinkler sans nozzle and then attaching the removed spray nozzle to the top of the gauge adaptor - it should work with any spray nozzle that accepts a Hunter spray nozzle. To the best of my knowledge, Rain Bird, Toro, Hunter, etc. spray nozzles are all interchangeable - so the gauge should work with all of them. The one constraint is that the spray nozzle must be able to be removed from the sprinkler head in order to screw the pressure gauge adaptor on to the sprinkler head.
Will this gauge work on Toro heads as well?
Keith R on Mar 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It has female threads on one end and male on the other; direction of flow is not important. So it works on both female and male-threaded tips.
Can this be used with male threaded nozzles? I would assume you could just flip the plastic housing of the gauge...
A shopper on May 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you are correct, it can be installed with either male or female threaded nozzles. You just flip the plastic housing to whichever end works with your nozzles. I have only used this with Hunter female nozzles and Hunter pop up bodies. With them it installs and works great. I had also wanted to use this with my existing Toro sprinklers, which have male nozzles, but BEWARE the threads on the Toro nozzles are slightly different and do not fit this product. I have not tried this product with any other brand nozzles/pop-ups, so I don't know if the threads are the same as other brands, such as Rainbird.
