TRACKER PORTABLE IRRIGATION MACHINE:

The Tracker offers a very economical solution for supplementing seasonal watering needs of 1/4 acre to 2 acre areas. It is also ideal for irrigating athletic fields, cemeteries, golf course roughs, or other large areas where an underground system is impractical. Built to last with precision German engineering and high quality materials, this portable powerhouse can irrigate an entire football field in just two passes.

Tracker requires minimal labor to operate. Powered by water, it pulls itself along a nylon cable, dragging up to 360 ft. of 1 in. reinforced heavy-duty hose (sold separately). Each pass irrigates about 2/3 acre per 8 hours of operations.

Watering Guide

Maximum Field Size

The area which can be irrigated by the Tracker depends on the weather (temperature and supplemental rainfall) and the time available for watering. Well-fertilized, healthy grass requires approximately 0.35" (9 mm) of water daily during the hottest time of the year, and about half of that during the cooler seasons.

The #7 (15 GPM) sprinkler nozzle is supplied with the Tracker™ to accommodate watering requirements. The Tracker™ can drag up to 360 ft. (110 m) of hose allowing a maximum irrigated length of 400 ft. (122 m). The width of a travel lane is typically 70 to 85 feet (21 to 25 m). As a guideline, the Tracker™ will water about 2/3 acre (2,760 m2) in 8 hours.

Water Source

The Tracker requires at least 9 GPM (34 l/min) at 50 psi (3,3 bars), which is typically available from 1" (25 mm) or larger pipeline. Larger areas may require up to 15 GPM (57 l/min) at 85 psi (5,4 bars).

if my well produces 5.5gallons per minute, will this sprinkler work?
jake t on Apr 17, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Jake, Yes this model sprinkler will work but the throw will be much shorter than what I get. My swath is about 70 feet (35 foot radius). You might consider a larger pump, since the travel is dependent on the volume of water flowing thru the turbine. I get 300 feet in about 4 hours, but if time is not a problem (like at night), you can take advantage of the auto shut-off and move the machine at your leisure. I like the machine so much, that I invented a bracket that spreads water in a "flood" pattern to get around the problem of the wind blowing away half of the water. The swath is only 20 feet, but all the water goes on the ground. Hope this helps, Norm
