Rain Bird 5000RCTREE Nozzle Set for 5000 Rotor

Rain Bird® nozzle sets help you save water and maximize the performance of your Rain Bird 42SA+ and 5000+ Series Rotors and 52SA Series.

Rotors apply different amounts of water depending on the pattern that they are set to water. For example, a rotor set to water just 1/4 of a circle applies more water in that area than a rotor set to water a full 360º, assuming the nozzles are the same.

Changing nozzles can help even out the amount of water being sprayed between rotors that are set for different patterns. This will help maintain a healthier lawn and save water.

  • Tree of self-aligning rotor nozzles including four low angle and eight standard angle Rain Curtain Nozzles:
    • Low Angle (angle of trajectory 10°): 1.0. 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0
    • Rain Curtain (angle of trajectory 25°): 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0
  • Large water droplets for greater wind resistance
  • Effective close-in watering
  • Even distribution over the entire radius
  • Provides 25' to 50' (7.6m to 15.2m) distance of throw
  • Fits on Rain Bird 5004PL-PC, 5004PL-FC, 5006PL-PC, 5006PL-FC, 5012PL-PC and 5012PL-FC and 42SA+ Plus and 52SA Series Rotors

good, but probably redundant
A set of nozzles is included with each 5000 rotor. If rotors are set for different patterns, then nozzles from a single set may suffice for matching water coverage among up to a half dozen rotors. Nozzles are easily installed, following Rain Bird's instructions, which is not necessarily true for other Rain Bird products...

Although I did find a use for the nozzles, what I ordered and what I rec ived were different items. I recieved low angle nozzles when ordering standard Rain Curtain nozzles.

My review
Nice product. The product came on a stem with number rating for each nozzle. All you need is a document explaining spray distances which they did not supply. You have to find this out hunting around ther web page.

Low water pressure problems, and I need to change to more restrictive nozzles because it's easier to do that and increase watering time than to add new stations.

What are the low angle nozzle numbers on the nozzle tree?
Dean K on Mar 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't have the nozzle numbers in front of me but with each nozzle tree you get 4 low angle and 8 regular angle nozzles. look at the picture on the website and the 4 low angle are at the top of the tree clustered together. Once you put them in the rotor and adjust them you'll remember what they look like. I haven't changed any of my own in a year so I had to look at the picture myself again.
is a tool need to install these nozzles? I've never been able to get the nozzles in straight and then having to prying them back out always damages them.
Sue M on Jun 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I also have a time getting them out. I wish they did have a tool for removing them. I sometimes use a screw onto the nozzle hole and pull it out which of course ruins the nozzle. They are in expensive so I just make iit
a disposable item.

Putting a new one in I usually use water punp type pliers to get them in far enough so they don't stop the rotor from going up or down.

The Irrigation company didn't seem to have a problem so I surmise they probably have a special tool they made The would not leave a green Rainbird screwdriver so I bought some on line.
What's the gpm on all the nozzles?
A shopper on Apr 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately not a simple answer. Rain Bird lists the GPM for each size nozzle in its literature but their data is based on the assumption the rotors are operating at 30 psi and that sufficient water is available - i.e., upstream piping is adequate to supply all sprinkler heads on the zone. You can assume the numbers on the nozzles are reasonably accurate in the PROPORTION of water being emitted from each rotor in the zone which helps in choosing nozzles for 90 degree rotation, 180 degree, 360 degree, etc., but only by actually field measuring can you be certain on the amount of water being emitted.
Do these fit the 42sa+ not the 42sa rotors?
A shopper on Sep 14, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The nozzle part number is the same for the 5000 and 5000+ rotors. I don't know where the 42sa part number fits in all of this.
