Returning to Hunter
I've used these in the past. My new home had rain birds installed. I'm swapping them out for the Hunter valves. Much better.

Hunter valve
If you are having trouble with a valve , it is easier to replace both the diaphrame and the solenoid at the same time.

Is this a comparable replacement for the old Hunter HPV?
jeff h on Jun 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, but I don't know. I just bought replacement parts with the exact numbers as those I was replacing.
why doesn't valve shutoff?
A shopper on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the controller is turned off then it's likely some debris is stuck under the diaphragm causing the valve to stay open.
What type of Glue can you use or need to use for the PGV100GS Valve?
Kipp W on Dec 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: regular PVC cement from the plumbing dept at any hardware or big box store. You will only have one chance to do this without any leaks, so make sure you follow the instructions Use a PVC cleaner, followed by primer and then the cement. I installed 8 valves and over 1500 feet of pipe without a single leak.
The instructions will also tell you to put a liberal amount of cement on the outside of the pipe and a smaller amount on the inside of the valve (or any fitting) because you do not want a big blob of cement on the inside of the joint and possibly getting into the working parts of the valve.
You can also use multi-purpose PVC cement, but do not use CPVC cement as this is tailor made for a different type of plastic pipe

Are PVG and SRV Hunter valves the same ?
Eloy C on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They are similar but different. If you are completely replacing a value, then an SRV should work like a PVG. However, I’ve found it best to use the same type of values which makes exchanging parts and replacing the guts more efficient.
