Weathermatic 1" FPT Silver Bullet HP Irrigation Valves

  • 1" Weathermatic 12024E-10-H Valve
  • Without Flow Control
  • 1" Female Threaded Inlet/ Outlet

Weathermatic Silver Bullet HP Valves feature superior materials, four-bolt covers, an unmatched manual bleed, a shock cone to reduce water hammer and a revolutionary reverse flow design which prevents valve failure in the open position. Excellent for micro-irrigation as valve will operate as low a 1 GPH. The unique "reverse flow" porting design permits equal pressure distribution on both sides of the diaphragm, regardless of line pressure providing zero stress to prevent "stretching," a common cause of valve failure.

Features & Benefits

    Superior Material

    • Glass-filled nylon construction gives the Silver Bullet added strength over conventional PVC valves.
    • Pick up a Silver Bullet in one hand and any other valve in the other to feel the difference.
    • Marine-grade S20P solenoid with stainless steel actuator

    Multi-Bolt Cover

    • Stainless steel bolts easily thread in and out of quality brass inserts.
    • Silver Bullet installers will tell you they rarely need to open a Weathermatic valve. When you do, it is easy to open and easier to close than most valves using screws or jar tops that are susceptible to stripping, dirt, and grit.

    Unmatched Manual Bleed

    • Send the Silver Bullet into action by simply pulling the trigger.
    • It's the easiest, driest internal manual bleed in the business that won't flood the valve box.
    • No twisting on a solenoid or bleed screw is required.

    Shock Cone

    • The Silver Bullet puts the hammer to water hammer by incorporating a cone-shaped diaphragm base.
    • The shock cone interrupts the water flow more gradually than other diaphragms to enable quick valve closure without the damaging effect of water hammer.

    Valve Identification System

    • Valve size and performance ratings
    • Zone number identification
    • Date code information
    • Bar coding

    Revolutionary Reverse-Flow Design

    • Reverse flow design means the valve fails shut rather than open in the event of diaphragm failure, unlike conventional forward flow valves that fail open.
    • Balanced pressure on the diaphragm extends valve life over forward flow valves.
    • Self-cleaning function is achieved as diaphragm actually flexes during operation to send dirt and debris down the line without the maintenance worry of filters and screens.

purchased as replacements/repair valves for valves that have been in service for 25+ years--new ones match old ones perfectly so I was able to just use the top half of the new valves. Big time saver. Great price

Great item for a great price!
This item was a huge help to the problem I was having. My only complaint is that the item came loose without instructions and looked like it might be lightly used. Regardless, it's working great!

Weathermatic 12000 series valve: what position should the manual bleed levev be in for everyday use?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I am replying from an office not proximate to my irrigation system. I don't recall whether the lever should be "up" or "down". It's easy to resolve, though, by simple trial and error. Simply establish water pressure on the inlet side of the valve. Make sure there is no water flow when the solenoid is not energized. Then....energize the solenoid and verify that water flows. Should there be a problem, flip the lever to the other position.

If my memory serves me, the lever should be down or horizontal.
How many are in a case?
A shopper on May 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Actually the Silver Bullet 1" valves ship in case quantities of 24.
What does "no flow control" mean?
David P on Jul 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No flow control means the valve is either full on or off. The flow control is like a hose bib in that you can set it to allow less than maximum water flow when the valve turns on. By controlling the flow you can reduce excessive pressure on smaller zones that might cause the heads to mist or stress the heads. Hope this helps.
I am using this for a rocket launcher. How do I get it to release air in a burst rather than gradually?
superb on Dec 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Lol, I build several hundred launchers every year.
1. The solenoid can't dump fast enough.
2. Block the vent to the downstream side.
3. Dump the top of diaphragm with a modded bleed valve. They are three times faster than unmodded, and five times better than a ball valve.
Don't use pvc. PVC limits you to 75-80 psi.
A metal chamber can run 150+:psi. Doubling the pressure increases the performance x 4. (400%)
Visit jjpaintball or Google jjsporting. We hold several patents, and love to help, especially if we can save someone from a PVC explosion.
What does flow control do?
A shopper on Feb 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: it allows you to cut the flow down similar to what you could accomplish with a gate valve. I beleive you would use flow control in a sprinkler situation where the water was spraying to far. I have tried using solenoids with flow control in drip applications, but the problem has always been when the flow changes(shutting off droppers of plants that I have sold), you have to adjust the flow control so that the solenoid functions properly. In my drip applications where I have used solenoids with flow control, if the flow control is not set just right, either not all the droppers will turn on(if the flow control is set too low) or worse if the flow control is set too high, the solenoid won't shut off. I am in the process of changing all of my solenoids to non-flow control versions. As long as your flow rate is within the range of the solenoid ratings, a non-flow control will always work!
does the weathermatic silver bullett 12024E-10-H valve come with its own solenoid?
Paul B on Apr 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I bought 6 last month and they come as pictured.
my valve lets water flow slowly when that section is shut down, can another valve replace the one I have. It is a 12024E-10 and you say you have none in stalk?
A shopper on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had a similar leakage issue and replacing the valve solved the problem. The cause is probably sand or grit which is preventing the valve from fully closing. If the valve is otherwise operating, it probably could be disassembled and cleaned. The valves are not expensive so replacement is the simplest solution. I can't speak for substitutes if your is out of stock. Call Sprinkler Warehouse customer service for advice.
is this valve threaded?
Steve J on May 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes they are. I just looked at the valve body I had on reserve for future parts. The one I bought was only used for the solenoid, so the rest of it is there.
What is the difference between the 12024E and the 1024EF?
Bob E on Jul 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The F means Flow Control. If you have a need to throttle back the flow, it's good to have. This is useful if you're running multiple zones at once or you need the spray pattern to be accurate based on flow. A pressure regulator inline can do the same things. If you only need a handful of valves, consider getting it. It's something like a buck more. If you need 100 valves, consider whether or not it's necessary.
I have a bad valve and when the controller calls for it to operate that zone it just buzzes loudly. I take this to mean the solenoid is bad and it will not open the valve. There is a small bypass on the side and when I turn it 1/4 turn it operates the valve and runs the sprinklers. What I am trying to figure out is what parts need to be replaced. Any help out there?
Gary B on Jun 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The solenoid probably needs replacing. Thaw fact that it buzzes usually means it's good. You can do an ohms check to verify whether it's good. Should be about 28-32 ohms. Check the other solenoid a to verify. Also, switch the solenoid a to see if the One will operate. Hope that helps.
I have a 30+ year old Weather Matic sprinkler system that has a 1" no flow control valves. Will this new model solenoid replace the 30+ year one which is defunct? Are they interchangeable?
Carol G on Jun 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I'm afraid that I can't answer your question with certainty. I think the chances may be pretty good that they are interchangeable. Frankly, since the cost of a solenoid is quite low, my instinct would be to order one and try it out. If it works, you have solved a problem and you will know what to do next time.

Replacing the entire valve is certainly not the end of the world and a 30-year old valve doesn't "owe" you anything. Nevertheless, such a project never goes smoothly and you end up having to buy additional fittings, hose clamps, etc., etc., etc.. You are also forced to dig up a great deal more lawn. In short, I would give it a try!
How to replace a diaphram on a series 12000 valve?
Joseph W on Jul 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: When I was having problems with a valve I just unscrewed the top of the old one and replaced it with the top of the new one, reconnected the wires and it's like brand new.
I didn't want to have to cut pipes and try to plumb in a comple new valve.
How many of these are in a case?
A shopper on Mar 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: pretty sure I've gotten a case of 24 in the past.
I have old weathermatic valves that I can no longer get diaphragm for they are 4 bolt and use the 24 B solenoid will this top half be compatible with the bottom half so I do not need to change the whole valve?
Kevin O on Nov 14, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The solenoid unit on one of my old valves failed. I replaced it with the solenoid from the new valve along with the new diaphram leaving the old base connected. A small tab on the new diaphram had to be removed as there was not a corresponding slot in the old seat and the bolts and seat fit as original and the unit has performed flawlessly all this summer under very heavy drought-like conditions in our area.
is the 12024E-10-H the same valve as the weathermatic SB-10F?

BEST ANSWER: I think so. It worked for me
